When SUU signs a deal to play a D2 or lower next year on the same date that the UNI was set to be played I might...maybe...listen to you bitch about it.dbackjon wrote:clenz wrote: SUU and UNI agreed to the buyout clause....UNI found the money to pay SUU for the game. That's the risk you take by taking the second game of a home and home. This is the reason UNI almost exclusively does home and homes where they get the first game. Not because they have the intention of buying it out, because the money is never there for UNI to do it, but so it doesn't happen to them. UNI has honored every other game with SUU they have set up ( 3 or 4 over the last decade)
What's your problem with that?
It is very difficult to get home games against FCS teams out west. This will screw over SUU next year.
Until then, no. UNI plays in the same state as another FCS school and can't even get a home and home with them. For our home and home's UNI has gone with NAU, SUU, SFA, and a 2-1 with USD. I don't want to hear about UNI not playing teams.
If SUU was going to pay UNI 450k, UNI would stay with that game as well.
Ares you saying you would like NAU to turn down 500k+ in gross revenue for a game, when they have been told by the state that you can no longer receive state money and have to run football in the black...all because you had a game set with a legal way out of it with a team that it would cost you over 100k to go play? This is a turnaround of about 600k for UNI.
