Those 400/100/100K are (or at least were) not politicians, they are representative of a slice of the "public at large." Yes, you live in a liberal mecca and have liberal neighbors who are arrogant and self-righteous about their cause. I live in Portland and have similar neighbors, I can also drive 100 miles east and find everyday people who completely disagree with the liberals but are just as arrogant and self-righteous.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 11:39 pmWhat "public at large" are you specifically talking about? The random 400 dipshits that milled around the Capital, or the 100 that seemed to be organized out of the 100k in attendance?UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 11:21 pm
So the "public at large" that stormed the Capitol and other MAGAts that wanted to hang Pence and continue to vilify the Lincoln Project are practicing "we're all in this together"? You're going to have to work a lot harder to convince me that the two extremes aren't two sides of the same coin.
I don't care for the Lincoln Project either but let's not pretend that right-wing extremists are any more inclusive and open to dissenting opinions than their left-wing cousins.
In the Russia collusion, Covington Catholic and Rittenhouse verdict vein, I'm going to wait until I see the facts on the Capital storming. Funny how we haven't seen the 1400+ hours of video, or anyone of consequence under oath.
I also never said nutjobs. I specifically mentioned my neighbors as public examples.

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
For most vaccines where the virus doesn't mutate or already have a ton of variants, vaccines do a pretty good job stopping transmission, but the Flu and Covid are a different animal.
Flu shots have always been marketed as not completely stopping transmission, but reducing symptoms and bad cases. COVID was sold by our government officials, not the pharma industry, as stopping transmission, but it's now obvious to everyone that it's similar to the flu vaccine.
On a separate note, I am completely against the COVID vaccine being added to the kids schedule before more testing. If it gets added, then ALL variations of the Pfizer vaccine receive liability shield without full testing - you can sue, but are forced to go through the vaccine injury court, which is run by our government. Pfizer bears no responsibility.
This is why some speculate you can't find Comirnaty anywhere... because Pfizer knows they would then be held liable for vaccine injuries.

I really have to spell it out for you, don't I? C'mon, BDK.
You need to be vaccinated, as a child, to attend public schools and live in the dorms. The precedent already exists.

100% irrelevant. Most of the population isn’t attending public shools right now. And you said govt mandated’. You didn’t say ‘state govt mamdated for those children attending public schools’
Also those are actual one and done (or at least good for years vaccines that most of us gkt as kids. This ‘vaccine’ after 6-8 months is apparently almost no bueno. Even dumber to give it to kids because kids are at almost no risk. Comparing those other vaccines to this is like apples to cinderblocks..

Omicron is in Minnesota, Thanks New York. Double mask and a shot of ivermectin should take care of it.

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
Dana White from the UFC got COVID and called Joe Rogan for his protocol. When Dana was being interviewed by Jim Rome, Rome asked him why and I thought his reply was brilliant. He stated that the medical field's advice is to go home for 10 days and quarantine. Dana White thought not trying to help yourself was not wise. He's also fully vaxxed.
On a separate Ivermectin note, a doctor has theorized why he thinks it's seeing such positive outcomes in India and Africa...because it's killing the parasites and thus improving their immunities. This is interesting because now doctors are admitting it has had a positive effect in those areas.

That's the theory. While it doesn't lend to Ivermectin's ability to act as an antiviral, people are now admitting it has an effect. My point being that I find it interesting that Ivermectin was crapped on until a theory could explain away it's effectiveness as an antiviral. The data did not change, but now it's accepted as long as it doesn't feed the narrative that it was directly helping Covid.Ibanez wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 7:26 amSo it's job as a de-wormer is making Indians and Africans healthier and therefore their bodies are able to fight?SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 10:23 pm

So, scientists and providers should have been saying "we see the effectiveness, but it has not been through an antiviral mechanism we can isolate and thus more research is needed". But we didn't see that. We saw the vilification and firing of those providers that used the drug.
You know me by now. I'm big on the art of medicine and believe a provider should be allowed to use off label if they believe it will work, especially one that have such a strong safety profile. Hell, even if it was only a placebo effect, give it to someone for that benefit. Many people are scared shitless of Covid and hope can be a powerful and comforting factor.

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
What? You mean like we’re still learning about it? And that it mutates?
Shocker.
(The vaccine doesn’t “stop” transmission and effectiveness wains, but it lowers the rate…and the less infections, the less it spreads).

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19
More evidence that vaccines are a positive.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... IYOQxrSRJYAbout 1 in 420 Americans has died of covid-19, according to official data. And we’re still averaging more than 1,000 deaths per day.
But in certain areas — and indeed in many areas in which the population is much more tightly packed and the coronavirus could transmit more easily — the story is far less grim. A big reason: widespread vaccination. Death rates are far below the national average in the most-vaccinated, often-urban areas.
2021 Election: Complete coverage and analysis
Much has been written about the yawning gap in outcomes between less-vaccinated and more-vaccinated areas, especially as deaths in less-vaccinated, red states significantly and increasingly outpace more-vaccinated, blue states. The Washington Post’s Philip Bump also reported this week that deaths in red counties are more than 50 percent higher than in blue counties.
But even that might undersell just how beneficial vaccination is in preventing the worst that the coronavirus has to offer — particularly when adopted on a grand scale in a given area.
