I don't normally wish ill will on anyone, but if Brad Lidge's car happened to stall on some train tracks I wouldn't shed tears.

So how do the Phils subtly let Mr. Lidge know that his services are no longer needed?

This just in....

The Phillies have clinched a winning season in 2011!

;)

I may have mentioned it once or twice before in this thread, but thank God for the Mets. You get a little banged up and then you get to take most of the week off. :D

Lastly, I heart MLB.TV. :thumb:

Another lousy 10-0 win last night, where's the yawn icon? Wake me up October 1st.

More good Mets stuff - Sometimes teams never recover:

On 9/12/2007 the Mets had a 7 game lead with 17 to play - as we all know they pulled one of sports iggest choke jobs to the Phillies.

Since that date the Mets: 303-326. The Phillies: 376-252, 1 parade, 2 WS appearances, another NLCS appearance & 4 division crowns in a row...

Remember when there used to be Mets fans that posted in the Phils threads years ago? :D

PS. Montgomery County Maryland sucks. I can now confirm this. Too many reasons to even start listing them.
I'm curious - why the MoCo hate?

C'mon over to the darkside here in VA (guns! conks! low taxes! no traffic cams!) when you tire of MD...

Watching Gov McDonnell right now (otherwise known as future VP McDonnell) downplay the earthquake issue - actually more concerned about Irene - of course if this was O'Malley in MD he'd be declaring a state of emergency and requesting federal funds...

Eh, I'm better now. Figured out a faster, less congested route to work. Learned to take a deep breath and simply reconcile the fact that the people here are going to pedal-to-the floor accelerate and fishhook around me to get to that red light 200 yards ahead every time, so just let 'em go and stop wondering if they were born an asshole or just became one over time. Found some better places to eat. Made some friends at work and in the neighborhood.

Everything's happy happy, joy joy now.

Fun fact: did you know that the Chipotle in Kentlands, Gaithersburg, MD charges $1.89 extra to get a dab of guacamole on your burrito? I found this out the hard way, when with the stupid fucking sales tax and that, my burrito came to over $9.

Stutes has struggled, but maybe I'll give him a pass yesterday for not being into a 9-1 game.

Interesting thought: Flipping back & forth last night between the Phils game & the LLWS, would the Mets win the LLWS if they were playing in it? Those guys are aw-ful.

RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has declared a state of emergency ahead of Hurricane Irene's weekend arrival.

Thursday's declaration allows state resources, such as the National Guard, to be sent to Hampton Roads to help local officials.

Magic number is 25 to win the division, 16 just to make the playoffs. :thumb:

Man, has anyone looked at the standings lately? Los Gigantes are five games behind the Dbacks. Is our nemesis even going to make the playoffs? Go Arizona!

NL playoffs shaping up like Phils vs Dbacks and Brewers vs Braves. Could be a '93 NLCS rematch. Can we dig Jane Fonda out of retirement? I'd love to see the Phanatic roast that bitch again! That series would make for some good smack with our illiterate southern friends as well.

Not sure the Braves get by the Brewers in a short series - they'd obviously have to win a game in Milwaukee and that's not been easy this year for most teams. Braves swept the Brewers this year but the last meeting was the first week in May so not sure that even applies. I'd obviously love our chances against the D-backs, though, even with the nice season they are having.
