What's really encouraging is that Lee and Hamels have both followed up stinkers with gems.

It's really hard to see this team losing three in a row at any point his season.

Four series. Four series victories. Not a lot to complain about.

I haven't been reading much this week. Any progress on Uts?
Yup, the Phils are just really, really good. Should make for a nice, long, fun summer watching this team mostly everyday. It's fun being this good. :thumb:

We're holding our breath on Oswalt now. The rotation is very talented but -- except for Hamels -- relatively elderly.

Another good outing for Hamels as Phils beat Fish, 3-2. :thumb:

Right now, Halladay is 33 and Lee is 32 - while they aren't young, they aren't really elderly yet, even by baseball standards. When they hit 35 and beyond, they will be, but they aren't there yet. Heck, for that matter, Oswalt is only 33 as well - he just looks much older due to the wear and tear.

Oswalt scheduled to throw bullpen today & they think he'll pitch as scheduled on Thursday as of now.

Epic Phils suckitude in all phases of the game: Halladay was off, no goddam hits (well, OK, 2), and defensive sloppiness. Sprig Ivy and I left in the top of the 7th -- right before Herndon threw gasoline on the fire -- and were glad we did. :ohno:

That was a throwaway game last night. Sucks that it was the night you happened to be there.

I'm not going to grumble just yet, but a third game of this anemic offense this afternoon could be a trend. I really don't want to have to eat my "don't see three losses in a row with this rotation" comment in mid-April.

Let's hope they break out today. :thumb:

And Wilson Valdez! Over the shoulder catch halfway out to right-center in the 9th. :notworthy:

The offense was still offensive for five innings, but at least they did enough late.

You know it's a tough crowd when Tom McCarthy starts the telecast by asking if the Phils can end this "losing streak".

Two losses in a row is now a losing streak for the Phils!

Oswalt's back in the groove!

Howard, on the other hand, has to start making contact. :x

Oswalt pitc hed great & my man Bastardo continues to impress. Regardless of when Romero comes off the DL I think Tony the Bastard is now the Phils top LHP relief option.

Hamels follow suit on the shutout route. Can Blanton make it a trifecta? :?

The Big Piece with the 2-run double in the 11th. :notworthy:

Phils take the series with a chance for a four-game sweep tomorrow with Doc Halladay on the mound.

And then it's off to Arizona for three games and a few days of trash-talking with dback and AZGF!

Halladay was dealing today. 14 Ks. :notworthy:

Phils with the four-game sweep, giving up only 3 runs in the series. :notworthy: :notworthy:

This staff is just sick. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

The Padres offense vs any decent pitcher and PetCo Park isn't a fair fight, much less the guys the Phillies run out there.

The Phils' offense isn't exactly lighting the world on fire either the last couple of weeks, averaging only three runs per game.` It's nice to have a staff that can cover for it.
