Taking my cue from schools like ODU and JMU that savor the Title IX sports ( ), I think it's time to have an official thread for the emerging juggernaut that is Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens Women's Basketball.
Likely big game coming up next week versus #5 Maryland in their house at the Terrapin Classic, should both teams win their opening round game. Win that one and it could be a very special season. The lowly CAA should be a mere speedbump after that before we can get back to teams of equal caliber in the NCAA tourney.
The UD lady hoopsters are 9-0 after cruising over Big East foe Providence last night. Don't short change our beloved women's basketball team like that, 93.

Eek. I was looking at the record on the NCAA ranking released yesterday.
Here. I make up for it. I know how much you love women a foot taller than you:

Nice try, but she is only half a foot taller than me.
Another solid win was St. Bonnie's who are 10-1, with their one loss at home to Delaware.
I bought my tickets to the anticipated Delaware @ Maryland tourney final game. 2 tickets, center court, handful of rows off the court, +fees was $22. Not bad at all.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but....
...that may be the first NCAA women's basketball game I ever attend.

The Much-Anticipated Mid-Atlantic Matchup of the Millennium will take place tomorrow night. Maryland #5/#5 vs Delaware #20/#19. Maryland truck rolled Lafayette 84-36 & Delaware has jumped out to a 30-5 lead against East Carolina. Go Hens!!

I heard EDD had a leg injury but still played some in the last game. Hopefully that doesn't linger. Is there anyone in the CAA that can stop the juggernaut that is the Lady Blue Hens?

The dominance continues.
Barring an injury to EDD they basically wrapped the CAA 1 seed up last night. Every other team has at least 2 losses - I'd be shocked if UD lost 2 CAA games all season.

She brings in the fans too. Almost 5k in Harrisonburg to watch.

Yup. Kevin Tresolini called them a "boisterous [translation: liquored-up] crowd."

They're outdrawing the men at home and on the road - that was almost a top 10 all-time crowd for a Dukes basketball game per JMUsports "The game was played before a crowd of 4,637, a season-high for JMU and the 11th-biggest crowd in school history."
