There would be a distinct possibility UNI would follow Nova along the same lines. Their (UNI's) basketball team is MUCH more successful than their football program. :coffee:
How do you figure? UNI's record in the NCAA is 1-5...last win coming in 1990
I still have the SI issue "Panthers send the Tigers back to Misery" Bo Kimble's "For you Hank" left handed free throw is on the cover. LMU to the Elite 8 that year.

Jon,

Would a Butler title, in your mind, be enough impetus for the B(C)$ conferences to demand this split?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

No - this would make it much harder for them to justify it.

I tend to agree with you in terms of justification, but I think it might just light a fire under them to pull something sneaky like this to prevent it from happening again, a la that Fiesta Bowl trash this past season.

It will happen, there's too much money at stake.

Just look no further than how successful the BCS has been at hoarding $$$ for the power conferences.
