Delaware moves up one spot to #8 in the new AP poll today.

Is a #2 seed out of the question?

1. Baylor
2. Stanford
3. Notre Dame
4. Connecticut
5. Duke
6. Maryland
7. Miami
8. Delaware
9. Penn State
10. Kentucky

I'm not sure a 2 is really any better than a 3, but both are much better than a 4.

Yes, a 2 is possible - it helps that they beat #9 Penn State earlier this year to keep a strong buffer on their backside. At the end of the day, 2 vs 3 not a world of difference I'd think.

I'm guessing either Georgetown or Kentucky will get the last 2 seed...

Maybe it'll keep them away from Maryland in the round of 8?

FWIW, ESPN currently has the Hens as a number 3 seed.

Charlie Creme's in mad luv with an 8-loss Tennessee team - and has a whole article discussing #8 ranked Delaware still getting a 3 seed in his world:

UD finished up CAA play last night 18-0, first perfect season in 10 years.

Open up CAA Tourney play Fri 3/9 against Towson or ODU. Could be pretty ironic to eliminate both of these schools in both sexes of hoops.

Dear Hen Fans,

Can you please keep your full page write-ups on Delaware East of the Mississippi? Day before yesterday there was a full page story about Delaware Women's Basketball, I think. I only looked at the picture and something in the title said Delaware.

Thank you,

It is pretty neat to see a mid-major team that has a lackluster history to suddenly be arguing rather it should get a seed over Tennessee. The Elena Delle Donne story, while every Delaware fan has heard it a hundred times, is still a captivating read for a new audience as well: going to UConn, getting homesick and leaving about a couple of days, coming home to be closer to her special needs sister, quitting basketball for a year and starring on a collegiate team in a brand new sport (volleyball), becoming the nation's leading scorer at your "neighborhood" University.

How is her cleaning and sandwich making ability?

You read about the special needs sister, right? I'm sure EDD can whip up a sammy faster than you can say "I'd need a step stool to get up high enough to tap that ass".

One of her favorite things to do is cooking - so sammie would not be out of the question.

If you know her personally, 93henfan is a bachelor and needs someone to make him a sammie.

Now #7 in the AP Poll - almost #6 - jumped Miami.

Nah, just happen to live local and heard her talk on interviews a few times. She is a special person and one like that will only be at UD (at least for womens basket ball) once in my life time. The ESPN story on the OTL replayed last night just prior to the UConn womens game. Interesting that they would do that.

Would not turn down a sammie or a beer.

I watched the OTL segment online last night. Her contributions to special needs individuals are noteworthy. :thumb:

Tennessee moves up from 10th to 7th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll in one week, jumping Delaware. Hens stay at #8. I call shenanigans.
