Oh, and when you shoot 10 FT's in OT when they are fouling you every chance they get hoping you would miss, it makes the difference look worse than it really was.

You mean the Weber/NAU game where NAU had 24 freethrows and Weber had 23?

Montana before overtime had 24 freethrows SUU had 13. If the refs would have called the goaltending, it wouldnt have even gone to over time, Lucky for Montana the refs decided not to.

Sour grapes must be considered a delicacy down there in Utah.

Just telling it the way it is, the goaltending or lack there of, was the biggest non call of the year, any Montana fan disagrees with that is wearing maroon colored glasses.

How can possibly say it was that obvious? The camera barely even let you see it (& there was no replay). I honestly couldn't tell.

I actually watched it again a few times, the ball was coming down and Hutchinson (sp?) blocked it, it took like 4 times for me to see it before I was convinced it was indeed a goaltending.

So look at it from the ref's point of view. They only had one look at it in real time, without the benefit of any kind of replay.

If it took you 4 times to be convinced then you can't really blame the refs for not calling it. :coffee:

I just watched it a few times myself, & I don't see how you could possibly tell. The camera angle is from behind the basket, and the foam side of the backboard obscures pretty much the whole thing.

Actually I can, They are on the court, they have a bird's eye view, they are supposed to be watching the ball. I was watching a view from behind the basket.

Yes, as soon as that ball goes in the air there is always at least one ref looking right at it, or they are not doing thier job

Ok so maybe not a "birds eye view". But a good one

Cherry is back practicing, though. Sounds like he wants to return this week, but Tinkle isn't too enthused about the idea.

And the Griz bench is good enough for the team to survive this. Last year, this kinda thing may have blown the season.

Even without Cherry and Ward, the team is still pretty good.

Lady Griz Clinch Regular-Season Title

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Montana's 59-51 win in Flagstaff coupled with Northern Colorado's 71-58 loss in Cedar City means the Bears can't catch the Lady Griz and UM will get home court & the first-round bye.

UNC finished the regular season winning 12 of 14, but both losses came to 7th. place Southern Utah. In addition, it's a near certainty these two will square off in the quarterfinals since NoCo has clinched 2nd. and the T-Birds will get the #7-seed barring a choke at home against lame-duck NoDak (plus a NAU win over MSU).

Well, we shall see when it's UM and Weebs in the conference championship. :ohno:

The Griz were very up and down tonight. Started out hot, had a few nice runs throughout, but also went quiet for a while. Let the Hornets get within 3 at one point. Saw some nice defense from Martin though. Maybe a nice look at things to come.

Gregory had a hell of a game.

SAC 52-63 UMT; Jordan Gregory gets a career-high 21 points while the Griz D holds Sac to 18% from the arc
NAU 79-83 MSU (OT); Rogers & Biglow both have huge games, but Biglow gets a tiny bit more help

ISU 61-67 EWU (OT); Lexie Nelson scores a career-high 24 as the Eagles clinch third
WEB 73-79 PSU (OT); A missed free throw with 3 seconds left in regulation keeps the losing streak alive

UMT 59-51 NAU; Katie Baker ties her career high with 26 points as the Lady Griz earn hosting rights

Can someone explain to me how Weber can field teams of such extreme polar opposites?
