NAU lost on the road by 5 to the Pac-10 champs. Cameron Jones is one of the top guards in the west. NAU is top 5 nationally is field goal percentage and three point percentage. Gabe Rogers leads the nation in 3 point percentage. They're an up tempo team. 7 losses of five points or less.

Weber State almost beat the BYU Fightin' Jimmers. They had the best final month of any team in the conference and came in third without a stud guard getting looks from the NBA.

I think the CBI and CIT could do a LOT worse than these two teams. But I fear they probably will and will invite the last place Big East teams and the 8th place SEC/Big 12 teams instead. Curses!

I doubt a Big Sky team without 20 wins and an RPI noticeably worse than 100th. has much of a shot.

I'll say "congratulations" to UNC. I'll also say that's a horrible song and I despise Queen even if it's my alma mater that wins.

I still remember how awesome it was to watch NAU's first tourney bid in a close loss to a top 3 seeded Cincinatti. 1998 was a long time ago as was 2000. Cherish the next week plus, Free.

Sheesh, is someone asleep at the switch in Greeley? Northern Colorado has been Big Sky champs for two-&-a-half hours now, but you'd never know it from looking at their website. I'd like to see who made the all-tournament team so I can post it here, but their site & the Big Sky site have no info yet.

Fair enough. Would you prefer this?

I'm already cherishing it, it's kind of unbelievable at the moment. Biggest thing to happen to UNC sports in some 40 years.

Championship Result

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

  • UMT 60-65 UNC; Bears clinch their first ever NCAA bid thanks to 27 points from Devon Beitzel
        • The Griz won shooting & turnovers, but lost the boards by 11 and fouls by 13
NoCo shot an unusually bad 60% from the line, but still made 9 more free throws than UM
After not scoring in the Semis, Art Steward led Montana with 16 points
Jamar had 13 points off the bench, while NoCo sub Mike Proctor had a game-high 9 rebounds
Qvale had 3 blocks, bringing him within 1 of the Big Sky single-season record held by Slim Millien

Montana dude who sat/stood/jumped up and down/ and squealed like a pig behind me, I was only kidding, hope you didn't make a mess in the wranglers.

Awesome!!!

Have an awesome time getting waxed without your hometown fixins :thumb:

Beitzel's gonna get his chance to see what happens when you lower your shoulder and bulldoze somebody...and a real ref is watching  and as somebody said on egriz, I don't think the DBOB (don't breathe on Beitzel) rule will be in effect.

Don't act like Montana wouldn't get waxed by a 2 or 3 seed.

Not so good. Lost our starting center, and only real post presence and have struggled pretty bad since.

Hey...question for you though...when was the last time you were in the S16 or beat the #1 team in the nation....or won a game in the NCAAs? ;)
