Best Performance: (#23) Jacksonville St. 9, (FBS) Florida St. 19 - Sure, the Seminoles were on a short week, but it's still pretty impressive for the Gamecocks to shutout FSU for 46 minutes.
Worst Performance: Tennessee-Martin 14, Missouri St. 24 - The Skyhawks miss all three of their field goal attempts.
Most Surprising Result: (#23) Jacksonville St. 9, (FBS) Florida St. 19 - Gamecocks actually led 9-7 with less than a minute left.

Worst Performance: Norfolk St. 13, North Carolina A&T 17 - The Spartans' impressive 2007 run seems like a lifetime ago.
Most Surprising Result: Morgan St. 0, (FBS) Akron 41 - The shutout doesn't surprise me but I figured the capable Bear defense would at least do its job.
Best Performance: Samford 27, Jacksonville 0 - The Bulldogs outgain the Pioneer League favorites 411-101.
Worst Performance: Western Carolina 20, Gardner-Webb 27 - 3 turnovers & a late Bulldog score cost the Catamounts a chance at a solid win.
Most Surprising Result: Georgia Southern 6, (#21) South Dakota St. 44 - The Eagles suffer their second worst I-AA/FCS loss since restarting football in 1982. Only the 45-0 quarterfinal loss to Montana in 1995 was worse (they also lost to then-NAIA Gardner-Webb 44-6 in '82).

Yeah, you're right. I forgot about that. They started 12-0 and then got upset by Buffalo in the MAC title game.

Most Surprising Result: (#12) Cal Poly 38, Sacramento St. 19 - Not too surprising, but the Mustangs don't look like they're having much trouble adjusting to the new coaching staff.
Best Performance: Coastal Carolina 24, Monmouth 17 - Despite the presence of David Sinisi on the the other side, the Chanticleers outrush the Hawks 207-97.
Worst Performance: Presbyterian 7, (#10) Elon 41 - The Blue Hose are outgained by 523 yards plus they allow two 100-yard rushers and two 100-yard receivers.
Best Performance: Prairie View A&M 18, (FBS) New Mexico St. 21 - Though he didn't play until well into the second half, Panther QB K.J. Black threw for more yards than both starting QBs combined in a near dramatic comeback.
Worst Performance: Arkansas-Pine Bluff 45, (NAIA) Langston 30 - The Golden Lions allowed only 107 yards and forced 8 turnovers against the NAIA Lions, yet they still gave up 30 points and only won by 15.
Most Surprising Result: Jackson St. 7, Tennessee St. 14 - The SWAC-East favorites give up 217 rushing yards to depleted TSU.
