Bloody, Battered, 0-1 Western State limps..

Post by Wedgebuster »

Towards total decimation at Washington/Griz-

The Mountaineers were hammered at home in their opener Saturday by Ft. Hayes St. (where Marshall Dillon used to take bad guys to get hung) 45-17. The Mountaineers were 2-8 in 2008 playing in the RMAC a notoriously mid grade D-II conference who couldn't whip their ways out of a wet paper bag.

Sounds like a game that'll be worth those expensive season tickets.

Any Griz fan that has any pride in the program should be embarrassed with this matchup. Shame. How low can the UM admin. go?

Don't give Montana too much crap over this, they could have taken the easy route and scheduled a real patsy, like Indiana State

I love to see the former scedule cupcake talk about the current cupcakes. :thumb:

Not a good game for the fans OF THE GRIZ and the Griz fans really are the only ones that should take offense to the scheduling of this team but I'm glad some of you are also taking up the cause for us. :thumb:

Western had three returns for touchdowns on special teams put on them. Hays is not a very good team either, dwelling near the cellar in the MIAA ever since joining that conference five years ago.

Could be a kick return clinic for Montana's punt returner. Likely the Mountaineers will only get to Kick off once in the game.

I am sure Big game Bob will keep Western in this game with his brilliant offensive scheme.

It is embarrassing as a Griz fan to play a DII team let alone one this bad.

Seriously, I was just reading on the other board, Western fans are saying that the Mountaineers only showed their basic offense on Saturday against Hays. Seems they think they have a few big surprises to whip out this coming Saturday.

Well they should stick with the basic offense until they can run it and then open up the can of whoop ass.

I am so glad I got to spend $25 to watch this one. Actually I am glad they held back their offense, now i can look forward to the Globe of Death, a few flee flickers and reverses. The Griz hve never seen those before.

The only thing that's laughable is the fact that non-Griz fans get their panties in such a bunch about it, and act like we're the only team that plays DIIs.

It's not that we're the only ones to play DII's. No problem playing DII's like Chadron or CWU, if it is complimented with an FBS (which ours isn't). It's that the Griz admin does amazing research to find the absolutely worst DII in the land. Separates us from the field in the cupcake category. On the other hand, Weber like NAIA's...

If you want to play D2, at least play a good D2 team. Pick up a Northwest Missouri State, Valdosta St, Nebraska-Omaha, Grand Valley, Delta State, Northern Alabama, Albilene Christian, or Minnesota-Duluth. Not a damn 2-8 D2 team.

Teams get upset about your schedule because it's a god damn joke. You playing them is like Florida playing The Citadel...a god damn joke. Almost as big of a joke as not giving a price break to season ticket holders for that game.
