According to this article Albany is set to open up at Big East Cincinnati in 2011. I hadn't heard anything about this, but I have a feeling it may be in the works because the folks at UA who are usually talkers have said they "can't comment yet".

Doesn't necessarily make sense though considering there is no way we could be a counter for the 2011 season, unless we went full scholly next year, which isn't in the works yet.

That means its got to be true right?
Sorry for the excitement guys, we've never played an FBS team before, let alone from a BCS conference.

Makes no sense to me either. But Western Michigan played CCSU a few years ago and they weren't a counter.dbackjon wrote:Why would UC play Albany if they are not a counter?
Plus any FBS team playing 2 FCS teams in one year is playing a non-counter as their second game. So its been happening more recently.

Coach Ford knew nothing about it? Talk about your AD throwing you to the wolves!

Not a bad game for Albany though. Like TTBF said, the stadium is sweet and the Bearcats have been fairly decent of late.

Its a huge step for our program. Play a BCS team is great for recruiting as you can imagine.
Plus its a little bit of keeping up with the Jones's as Stony Brook is playing at South Florida next year. Now Coach Priore can't hang that over a recruit's head against Albany.
