High School: Named county’s Athlete of the Year after a standout senior season at quarterback and defensive back ... a first-team all-conference honoree and 2-AAAA all-region selection as a defensive back ... amassed over 1,600 yards of total offense after taking over at QB following the season opener ... tallied seven interceptions, seven pass break-ups, 40 tackles and a forced fumble on defense ... also played wide receiver during prep career, including during sophomore season when he helped lead Berkeley H.S. in Moncks Corner, S.C. to the South Carolina state semifinals ... coached by Nick Collins.
We could use a little karma for this kid. Both his Dad and Uncle were Bobcat greats! Jase was seriously injured in July when a car pulled out in front of him while he was riding his scooter in Billings. Along with a serious head injury he had to undergo a couple surgeries (shoulder. pelvis) and was in the ICU for several days. He's now in rehab (both mentally and physically) and will sit out fall semester, but we're all hoping to see him back next semester. He's a tough kid, played QB in HS, and projected to be a player for the Bobcats.......I sure hope it works out that way.
