First Round Predictions 27 NOV 2021
@ Incarnate Word d. Stephen F. Austin 31-27 — UIW is doing VERY well this year.
@ SW Missouri State d. TN-Martin 24-21 — Another good matchup.
@ Holy Cross d. Sacred Heart 17-14 — Whoever wins is heading into a buzzsaw.
@ South Dakota State d. UC Davis 56-0 — The Manure Pile has lost their identity.
S. Illinois d. @ South Dakota 31-20 — The rare in-conference first round matchup, and the winner gets the dubious distinction of having to face NDSU.
@ Kennesaw State d. Davidson 42-13 — The Pioneer just can't cut it against even the much-reduced Big South.
@ Eastern Washington d. N. Iowa 63-24 — UNI is about at the end of their rope...assuming that EWU is at full strength.
FL A&M d. SE Louisiana 27-24 — The HBCU King of the Playoffs strikes again.

I will bet SH any amount of money he wants to lose that EWU scores fewer than 63.
And SELA beats FLAMU.

Re: First Round Predictions 27 NOV 2021
UNI probably loses but 63 is fucking dumb - which makes it entirely expected from dipfuck
Nationally UNI is
1st in turnovers forced
3rd in fumbles recovered
7th in rushing defense (2.4 YPC and 80 YPG)
11th in sacks
13th in first downs allowed
14th in scoring defense at 17 ppg
15th in total defense (by yards - 290 per game)
18th in pass efficiency defense
19th in interceptions
UNI has given up 18, or more, just 3 times all season. Granted, all 3 of those are losses - 34 to NDSU, USD and MSU. The other 8 games were all 17 or less (16, 16, 3, 7, 17, 16, 17, 3)
Sac State went 8-0 in Big Sky play. They averaged 32 points per game, 462 yards, 5 ypc, 178 rypg, and threw 6 INT all year. Against UNI Sac State has 9 points before a garbage-time TD. Ran for 106 yards (3.3 ypc) and threw 3 of the 6 total picks on the season. Sac State had just 269 yards of offense before UNI pulled starters in the fourth. Sac had 186 yards their final 3 drives of the game - and 7 points - after UNI was up 4 TD and was in a complete prevent defense with back ups.
EWU scoring 63, their second-highest total of the season, would mean some really fucked up shit happened. UNI is going to have the best defense EWU has faced all season - Montana is probably pretty close based on stats (but when you look at SoS for how stats carry over I give the edge to UNI)
It's entirely reasonable that EWU scores 30-40.
We can look at how EWU played WIU. 42-7 for EWU and 41-3 for UNI.
UNI has had a number of players out in November with injury and covid protocols. If they are able to go vs EWU it's going to be interesting.

Re: First Round Predictions 27 NOV 2021
OK. Maybe I got excited. But suffice it to say that despite paralleling downturns, I trust EWU's ability to recover and acquit themselves much more than I trust the Manure Pile to do so....

Re: First Round Predictions 27 NOV 2021
FAMU as I said before is going to have its hands full with Southeastern Louisiana they have a 4WR EMPTY BACKFIELD OFFENSE this basically the RUN-N-SHOOT without the name attached to it.The Lions leading WR is a guy named AUSTIN MITCHELL he has 66 grabs for 1,035 yds.The Rattlers have two DBs BJ Bohler and Javan Morgan they are among the FCS leaders in Interceptions so they better be ready this weekend????SuperHornet wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 9:46 am @ Incarnate Word d. DSU, don't pick UNI. EWU should have been seeded and UNI shouldn't be in the field. UNI doesn't stand a chance. They're going to give up 60+points.DSUrocks07 wrote:SFA

Our starting RB is entering the transfer portal, so that will be a big loss next season.dal4018 wrote:Delaware St has promising frosh DB listed at 6'4 205 he is Mel Blount wannabe wished that he was playing with the Rattlers tomorrow.DSUrocks07 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 7:38 pm SFA

EDIT: he's also a freshman, did I mention that he was a freshman transferring out after one season? That's a great sign as well...

Re: First Round Predictions 27 NOV 2021
EWU is going to need a big second half to get to 63
So far they have a super impressive 9 points
Can UNI avoid giving up 54 in the second half?
I guess we have to wait and see.
