Worst Performance: Southern Utah 10, (#9) South Dakota St. 55 - So much for the T-Bird defense being back… they allow 579 yards and 55 points a week after holding an FBS team without an offensive touchdown.
Most Surprising Result: (#23) Idaho St. 14, (#24) Portland St. 34 - Justin Arias will apparently be harder to replace than ISU thought. His heir, Michael Sanders, threw for only 177 yards on 39 attempts (also 2 INTs).

As far as worst MEAC performance I don't think anything can top BC 76, Howard 0 considering:
-41-0 after 1 quarter.
-62-0 at the half.
-76-0 after 3+ quarters (they basically only played 3+ quarters as each 2nd half qtr was only 10 min long).
-Maine, a mid pack CAA team, only lost to BC 21-3 the week before.

Not that it really matters, but does anyone know how Maryville rates WRT Mount Union?
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Per Ncaa, Mt. Union is #2, Maryville ORV in the latest poll.
Well in fairness to ETSU they are 1st year football with 2? Recruit classes. So basically almost their entire team is true fr and rFr. Basically a Fr team. They should only be playing Pioneer, Div II and Div III. Definitely shouldn't be full scholly (well unless its MEAC)..

I'm guessing they're a bit weaker than Mt. Union. DIII football seems to work like DI women's basketball in that the top-tier teams slaughter most everyone else.

I would've put that as the Southland's worst performance. It's not just that it was a D-II. It is a D-II that just started its program in 2013 and finished 3-4 in its conference last year. Yes it is probably the toughest D-II conference (Gulf South) but, still, Florida Tech is a brand new program and there's no reason to believe it's a playoff caliber D-II team. My bet is Florida Tech finishes with a losing record in the Gulf South again this year. I think their most likely conference record by the time the season is over is 2-5. Very unlikely they'll beat North Alabama, Delta State, Valdosta State, or West Georgia. They somehow beat West Alabama by one point last year but I doubt that happens again. The conference games I see them as having a reasonable chance to win in Gulf South Play are Shorter and Mississippi College.
At this point of the season it's looking like Southeastern Louisiana has serious problems with its passing game. Last week against Northwestern State the Lions were able to run the ball very effectively. But against Florida Tech they averaged 3.0 yards per carry. BTW Newberry rushed for 318 yards at 7.4 yards per carry against Florida Tech the week before Florida Tech played Southeastern Louisiana.

On the surface this may be true. However, Charleston Southern has had a significant number of players suspended for the first two games. Nothing significant that I've heard of. Just disciplinary.
Those players will return this week (tonight). I expect to see the CSU Buccaneers get things rolling tonight and it will continue to grow as we approach the conference schedule.
Peaking and showing your best performance is not the goal in the first two weeks. An FBS win would have been nice for conference and FCS bragging rights, but in the big picture it doesn't really matter all that much.

Stanford lost their 2 best players to injuries just before the tournament, so that upset was a bit of an aberration (not to mention 17 years ago).
