I was reading some old articles (week 3) and noticed this:
PROJECTED PLAYOFF FIELD
Coastal Carolina/Liberty winner at No. 4 Villanova
http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnf ... id=4724286 " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I understand it's a projection and no where near reality however, doesn't the NCAA prohibit a matchup like that? Especially since the last week of regular season has CCU vs Liberty?
Turns out I might be a little gay. 89Hen 11/7/17

I'm pretty sure no conference mates can play first round

I thought that as well. You'd think "FCS Executive Director" Haley would know that.

How many times do I have to tell you that SN is full of idiots? They ran articles like this the past couple years with pairings that were absurd or even impossible.

In their defense, FCS is really, really bad this year. Gonna be some shitty Top 25 teams by default. Hell, there are some pretty bad teams in their Top 10 right now.

It may be down, but the balance of power has shifted west.

Of course. Georgia Southern, Appalachian State, and ODU all just bolted for FBS.
The balance of power in FCS has shifted somewhere just a few hundred yards from the Red River in North Dakota the past three years.
Nobody else is close at this point.

Agreed. Only Towson and UNH in the semis last year. The east is dead.

NoDU? You mean the team that couldn't even finish a game? Yeah, we lost a real powerhouse there.
And App? You mean the team that got blown out by the team that got blown out by CCU in their last year in FCS?

Hey, the CAA had a great run, but nothing lasts forever.

Villanova is better than anything in the Big Sky right now, but that's not saying much.

Robertson can't run effectively with that left arm in a cast and they just lost a starting D End and Linebacker for the season unless they make a deep run. Their second best runnung back is out for 4-5 weeks too.
This looks like one of the most talented teams they have had but you need some luck too. Injuries suck.

It's a long season, but I agree for now. MVFC are definitely the new top dogs.

Shit, they're more of a one trick pony than Montana and Seven Dwarfs back in the day.

So you think the CAA is still the top conference?

It's not as good as it was, but it's probably still at the top. We will see in December.
Probably the Big South as top dogs. CCU is a legit top 3 team and CSU and Liberty should both be in the top 10.

Big South? You have to be trolling.
AGS poll (the only one worth looking at) has 8 MVFC in the top 25, and deservedly so.

Are they just saying whoever wins the BSC will seed at Nova, which is likely the CCU/LU winner? Or that both will make it and play each other first round?

8? They should have all 10. They are the kings of pre-playoff championships (NDSU not withstanding).

And for the record, if EWU had any defense. At all. I'd be singing a different song about the Big Sky.

Well, Montana plays pretty good D. It hasn't clicked yet, but we also have quite a bit of talent on offense. If the O-line gets it together, watch out.
