And they leave too many BSC teams out in the cold....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I really enjoy ROOT's broadcasts and am glad to see their Big Sky coverage is being recognized. They do leave some teams out in the cold, but typically that's because they're not in ROOT's broadcasting footprint. It sucks, but it makes sense.

Weber should feel lucky their games are broadcast on anything more advanced than daguerreotypes.Wildcat Ryan wrote:+1SuperHornet wrote:And they leave too many BSC teams out in the cold....

Wanna get more games on TV? Win more games!Wildcat Ryan wrote:+1SuperHornet wrote:And they leave too many BSC teams out in the cold....
In all seriousness, like bobwoodshed said, most Big Sky teams don't get games because they are out of the ROOT Sports Northwest footprint.

1995 and 2001 FCS NATIONAL CHAMPS
Big Sky Champs - '69, '70, '82, '93, '95, '96, '98, '99, '00-'09, '11
National Champs Runner-Ups: '96, '00, '04, '08, '09
Playoffs - '82, '88, '89, '93-'09, '11, '13, '14
Re: ROOT's Big Sky Coverage Wins Regional Emmy
Seems a little counterintuitive to sign on with a channel where many of the league members aren't within their broadcasting footprint. But I understand the Big Sky isn't in a position to sign on with more of a national based network. The current cable TV business model can't die soon enough!!!Get'em_Griz wrote:Wanna get more games on TV? Win more games!Wildcat Ryan wrote:

Re: ROOT's Big Sky Coverage Wins Regional Emmy
In a perfect world that would be great for every team to have one game televised, but it's honestly not realistic IMO. ROOT Sports is a business that is focused on finding the best ways to bring viewers to their channel. For them, that way is to show games of teams who win/have large fan bases... The only thing that other Big Sky Schools really have any control over and can do to help their chances on getting at least one game on TV is to start winning consistently. It sucks for sure, but look at any major television network and you'll usually see those networks airing teams who are winning.Wildcat Ryan wrote:Get'em_Griz wrote:
