* - I know App State & Georgia Southern are still technically in the SoCon this year, but I'm counting them as FBS and as a non-conference opponent for SoCon teams (same idea as Georgia State last season & UMass the year before).
The coach at Hampton has been on the perverbial hot seat for the last couple of seasons.Bethune Cookman move over you will have company on the 1-AA top 25 from the MEAC.
Best performance in the Valley was NDSU going into their rival's home field and shutting them out and holding the nation's leading rusher to 4 yards and team to -32.
UNI's was very impressive also but not close to NDSU's.

How was a 20-0 win impressive after defeating Delaware St 51-0.I would have thought the Bison would have poured it on the Jackrabbits like as in 40-0.

SDSU is a decent team...beating them 20-0 is impressive. DSU is an absolute pathetic team and NDSU could have made it 100-0 if they wanted.

The MEAC remains a joke of a league.
Then NDSU should have made it 120-0.
They were being nice to the DSU players and supporters...think of it as another charitable contribution to the poor.

No. McNeese & SoDak State are about equal and the UNI/McNeese game was over right away while the NDSU/SDSU game was still just 7-0 heading to the 4th.

Best Performance: Harvard 41, Brown 23 - A 31-0 run gives the Crimson their 7th. straight home win against the Bears.
Worst Performance: Columbia 14, Monmouth 37 - Marcorus Garrett runs for 152 yards and both Lion TDs on just 16 carries, but gets little help.
Most Surprising Result: Dartmouth 28, Holy Cross 31 - A late fumble on a kick return dooms any hope of a last-second win against the inconsistent Crusaders.
Best Performance: Prairie View A&M 56, Stephen F. Austin 48 - Panther QB Jerry Lovelocke didn't quite put up the insane yardage numbers of his SFA counterpart, but 380 passing yards and 7 total TDs is nothing to complain about.
Worst Performance: Texas Southern 10, Alabama A&M 12 - The Tigers are tackled for loss 11 times by the Bulldog defense.
Most Surprising Result: Prairie View A&M 56, Stephen F. Austin 48 - This was Prairie View's first-ever win over SFA, though perhaps more surprising is that these two nearby opponents hadn't played since the '80s.
Best Performance: Charlotte 45, Presbyterian 21 - A strong running game helps 49er QB Matt Johnson throw for 269 yards and 3 TDs on just 23 attempts.
Worst Performance: Abilene Christian 34, (DII) Tarleton St. 41 (2OT) - ACU allows 251 yards rushing to Texan star (that's right, TSU's nickname is the "Texans" while their women are called the "TexAnns" ) Jerome Regal.
Most Surprising Result: Abilene Christian 34, (DII) Tarleton St. 41 (2OT) - After crushing their first three non-DI opponents, the Wildcats are run over by a barely-ranked one.
* - Old Dominion is a first-year transitional, so I'm counting them as FBS and not counting them as an FCS Independent.

The only thing is that I think SDSU was kind of over rated. I think they got significantly outplayed by Southeastern Louisiana but got by because Southeastern Louisiana turned the ball over 6 times. I know teams have to be rated on won/loss outcome but they got outgained 506 to 345. Another thing is that, though they got 158 yards against Southeastern Louisiana, 75 of those yards came on one play. For the most part they couldn't run the ball. Same with Zenner. Yes he had 128 rushing yards but, again, 75 came on one play. Play in and play out he was not that effective.
Then you look at their other two wins. One is Butler. The other was by 35-28 over North Dakota. In its next two games North Dakota lost by 55-17 to Montana and by 63-20 to Montana State.
I can understand thinking McNeese was also overrated given what UNI did to them. But I do think South Dakota State was kind of an illusion and I especially thought that because of the Southeastern Louisiana game. I don't think the better team won that one and expected North Dakota State to handle the Jackrabbits pretty easily.

I wouldn't say South Dakota State is overrated ... they're very sound in what they do and do a great job playing to their strengths. That said, we match up extremely well with them and physically and athletically dominated them for most of the game ... we could have easily blown that game wide open, and should have. But to SDSU's credit, they made us pay for our mistakes and did what good teams do when you don't put them away when you have the chance ... in crunch time, they executed better than us. That said, when we hit our stride and string four consistent quarters together, we're going to blow somebody off the field. We have a chance to be very, very good by season's end.

Agree to disagree.
SDSU/NDSU games are always battles because the teams know each other so well. Does not matter what the records are.
