Big South: CCU (4-0) @ Elon (1-3)

Post by Ibanez »

Coastal travels to Elon on Saturday. Elon has suffered losses to Georgia Tech, North Carolina A&T, and App State. Their only win was over West Virginia Wesleyan.
Some quick states on Elon:

Defense is rated 108th out of 122 schools, giving up an average of 484 yards a game.
Rush Defense is 94th giving up over 213 ypg.
Pass Defense is 96th giving up over 271 ypg.
Their 3rd down conversion rate is only about 34% and the FG kicker is 1/7.

Hopefully, Coastal doesn't go in thinking they can just run over Elon.  The series is tied 1-1.

Elon never should've left the Big South. They are a Christian school, and a better fit in the BSC with Liberty, CSU, GWU that have the same faith-based school.

Officially, senior wide receiver Matt Hazel’s status remains undecided for Coastal Carolina’s game Saturday at Elon, but the Chanticleer coaches are preparing as if the injured offensive standout will be unavailable this weekend.
