Worst Performance: Missouri St. 6, Southern Illinois 14 - Three offensive turnovers ruins a great effort by a Bear defense that held SIU under 200 yards and didn't give up a single third-down conversion.
Most Surprising Result: South Dakota St. 24, (#22) Indiana St. 10 - In a battle between the best two running backs in the MO Valley, Zach Zenner crushes Shakir Bell by outrushing him 237-54.
Best Performance: (#21) Eastern Kentucky 51, (#24) Jacksonville St. 21 - Matt Denham runs for 218 and 3 TDs while T.J. Pryor throws for 231 and 4 TDs (1 to Denham) on just 20 attempts as the Colonels embarrass the Gamecocks.
Worst Performance: Tennessee Tech 38, Southeast Missouri St. 41 (2OT) - Odd stats galore in this one: TTU outgained SEMO 560-357 and won turnovers but lost the game; all 7 Redhawk completions went to one guy—Scott Lanthrop; Tennessee transfer Da'Rick Rogers caught 18 balls for 303 yards in a losing cause (he had 12 for 258 at the half ); Southeast Missouri had two pick-sixes in the second quarter; the Golden Eagles had 10 penalties to SEMO's 1.
Most Surprising Result: (#24) Jacksonville St. 21, (#21) Eastern Kentucky 51 - The Gamecocks have now lost 3 straight to EKU and have allowed an average of 50.7 ppg in those losses.
