West Georgia has commissioned a study to explore the possibility of playing football on the Division I level.
The Wolves are currently Division II and play in the Gulf South Conference, but have asked Collegiate Consulting to analyze playing on the FCS level. Moving football would require moving all sports to Division I.

Re: West Georgia to explore Division I status
They hatched this plan 5 years ago that when they hit 15K enrollment they'd move up. Big South should take both UWG and UNA. They'd expand the footprint quite a bid but the BSouth has had a member in AL before w/ Birmingham So.
The BSouth could even talk to the ASun about seeing if they'd add the 2 as full members and BSouth take both their fb teams
