I like how the words
We in a fight to the finish. So why not fight til you finish.
Happen as soon as Enders rolls out.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. :coffee:

After that happened, I feared it may prevent us from making the playoffs. That did not happen, but it may have kept us from being seeded (although SOS may have kept us unseeded).
Assuming that is the case, we can put a dollar amount (ODU's bid vs. the minimum payment) on the cost of that play. ODU bid $58K on the second round game (minimum is $30K) so that is $28K. If we make it to the thrid round, our bid is $77K (minimum is $40K) so that is another $34K. And of course if we are forced to play the first round game, our $54K bid will count in it's entirety since a seeded team gets the bye.
The ramifications of a fluke play where the refs failed to throw a flag for holding, offensive pass interference, 12 offensive men on the field, sodomy without reach around, etc. could cost us dearly.

Two points:

A- Where would you get those bid #'s from? In all my years I've never heard a school make their bids public ahead of time.

B- If those are the bids, chances are greater ODU won't be at home - those bids are much lower than that of schools of comparable stadium size/attendance.

Wow - given the comparisons billk, don't harp on him too much... lest we be inundated with gay porn and a hasty exit...

Trip posted it after a sports writer revealed the numbers (See page 5 of the Playoff Field thread).
These were ODU's bids as revealed by our local sports writer:

Round 1: $54,000 (min. $30,000)
Round 2: $58,000 (min. $30,000)
Round 3: $77,000 (min. $40,000)

We didn't bid on a semifinal game (min. $50,000) because of graduation ceremonies.
I was told directly from the AD over the weekend. He told me they are based on historical bids and analyzing the potential field.
