This is based on the tiebreakers from 2008, which I don't believe have changed. The OVC's tiebreaking procedure is identical to the Big Sky's, just without the Sagarin step (H2H, common games, coin flip).
Tennessee State hosts Jacksonville State, Eastern Kentucky hosts Tennessee-Martin, Tennessee Tech hosts Austin Peay, and Murray State travels to SEMO.
The possible 6-way tie at 5-3 would come down to a 3-way coin flip between TTU, EKU, & TSU. The possible 5-way tie (removing Murray) would go to TSU.
Here's each team's auto-bid hopes:
TTU - Will get it with a win. They can also win the 3-way coin flip if EKU & JSU lose (& Murray wins).
EKU - Will get it with a win & a TTU loss. They can also win the 3-way coin flip if TTU & JSU lose (& Murray wins).
JSU - Will get it with a win & losses by both TTU & EKU. They can only win it outright.
TSU - Will get it with a win over JSU & losses by TTU, EKU, & Murray. They can also win the 3-way coin flip if Murray instead wins.
Murray - Can't get it. They can get 7 DI wins, though, so they have a miracle hope for a playoff bid.
UTM - Completely dead.

Can we rename this thread: "OVC Who-Cares-We're-Gone-After-Round-1 Bid Fun"?

Re: OVC Auto-Bid Fun
Whoever wins will likely play in the first round, so they've got a great shot at ending the losing streak.panther-state wrote:Can we rename this thread: "OVC Who-Cares-We're-Gone-After-Round-1 Bid Fun"?
