HOUSTON - The Southland Conference will make a site visit to Houston Baptist University on Nov. 9.
Sources with knowledge of the situation told FOX 26 if that visit goes well HBU could be invited to join the SLC and the school would accept.
"While I'm certainly not ready to count the votes yet with our presidents, I would say any time you take a campus visit you're very serious about the possibilities in the future," said Tom Burnett, Southland Conference commissioner, in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

What a lackluster add, Maybe if the school started playing football it would help but I live here and have never heard any press on that school. It's barely got a pulse and I've met zero alumi from there. I've driven by it a couple times and its underwhelming. Not sure where they would build a football field since the area is heavily developed unelss they have some land set aside. If they can't build a stadium then I guess they would play at a high school field or it would be a 15-30 minute drive to play at the Rice or Houston stadiums.
