Appalachian losing assistant coach?
Rumor has it that QB coach Scott Satterfield will be leaving ASU to take a job with Toledo. At this point this is still a rumor, but if true he will be tough to replace.

App St. will be fine. They will pick up a moonshiner on the side of the road, put him in, and they will win some games.

Those moonshiners are normally around and up the mountains.....not on the side of the road.....might be hard to find a really good one on the side of the road.grizzaholic wrote:App St. will be fine. They will pick up a moonshiner on the side of the road, put him in, and they will win some games.
Honestly.....Scott Satterfield is a great asst. coach, and is a big blow to App State to lose such a quality person.....I had hoped he would be our next great coach. He was a former QB at App.

This will suck. Wasn't Satterfield the impetus behind installing the Spread that has worked so well for us?

That's how I understand it. There was speculation that he would get the head coaching job when Jerry Moore retires. Maybe that didn't work out.Appaholic wrote:This will suck. Wasn't Satterfield the impetus behind installing the Spread that has worked so well for us?

Satterfield left open the possibility of returning in the Winston-Salem Journal. He said he has goals and would like to be the head coach at ASU someday, but he thinks he needs more experience to be worthy of the job.AshevilleApp wrote:That's how I understand it. It sucks, but I don't blame him. He's young, and has a budding career. I am sure Coach Moore helped him with the decision...I guess I have commit blasphemy and pull for a team from Ohio. This is going to suck.

Don't sweat it, Toledo was almost part of Michigan anyway. Michigan and Ohio were ready to go to war about who got Toledo so Congress stepped in. They awarded Toledo to Ohio and gave Michigan the UP. Another win for the Wolverine state.
