FCS Game of the Week (Week 2)
FCS Game of the Week (Week 2)
Are we doing it this season?
If so, my vote goes for: Northern Iowa @ Stephen F. Austin.
Others that caught my interest were:
Cal Poly @ Montana
South Carolina State @ Bethune Cookman
Furman @ The Citadel
UC Davis @ Montana State
Villanova @ Towson
Florida A&M @ Hampton
Jacksonville State @ Chattanooga
Jackson State @ Tennessee State
What about y'all?

Re: FCS Game of the Week (Week 2)
Although the St Francis @ NDSU is not a national spotlight game it is a game featuring one of the countries top 10 teams. It will also have a large crowd around 17,000 for sure. It may not be game of the week but it is a game of interest nationally and regionally of course it will be front page.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

I'll go with UNI @ SFA.
SFA is pass happy. Has been for years and if you have a good secondary and plan for it, you shut them down. That was proven more than once in recent history.
It may not have "national implications" but I'm looking forward to watching it.

I'd say it's a tossup between UNI @ SFA and CPSLO @ MONT.
Homer vote edges it to CP @ UM.

Re: FCS Game of the Week (Week 2)
My biased opinion: Coyotes vs Eagles (1 of 4 Great West vs Big Sky matchups in Week 2)
But hard to argue with UNI - SFA & Cal Poly - Montana games. Also Montana State - UC Davis & Sac State - Southern Utah should both be interesting games.

Re: FCS Game of the Week (Week 2)
giving my somewhat biased opinion but I seriously think ODU-Georgia State will be a game to watch. It should be a very competitive match-up between 2 up and coming FCS and CAA programs.

Portland State vs Bye---Bye certainly can't have a worse showing against us than Southern Oregon. If we score 50 again, we should get some national recognition.
I'll be happy if we can hold bye to zero points.

Another match-up with the same national prominence as Flood Valley State vs. St. Whatever.JALMOND wrote:Portland State vs Bye---Bye certainly can't have a worse showing against us than Southern Oregon. If we score 50 again, we should get some national recognition.![]()

You guys, Charleston Southern is playing Florida. Clearly, you all are homers and have no clue at how faw Coach miles has taken the Bucs. They are stiff competition.

Re: FCS Game of the Week (Week 2)
Three good games:
Matchup between SFA and UNI (two favorites for their conference races). Team that blitzed a lower division team 82 - 6 vs a FCS opponent that outplayed Iowa State except for mistakes..Which team is legit?
Future Big Sky Conference Opponents in rematches:
Last year Griz turned the ball over 4 times and lost to Cal Poly. The Griz get their shot to prove that things will be different this year.
The last time UC Davis came to MSU in 2006 they converted 67% of their third downs that launched a 2nd half explosion of points (31) coming out with 45-0 shutout of the Cats. Last year the Aggies had a solid year with a redshirt freshman QB that was able to pull off wins against San Jose State, Sacramento State, and Cal Poly. MSU in meantime is coming off of a Big Sky Conference championship, with an explosive offense led by McGhee. Both teams are coming off of FBS losses from Thursday night and get a chance to start off FCS play on the right foot.
Homer pick - While the scores between SFA UNI/Cal Poly UM will be noteworthy. The best game will MSU vs UC Davis as the similar offenses try to put on show with their young QB's that have proven they can play and win big games.

Re: FCS Game of the Week (Week 2)
Sacramento State at Southern Utah
The more I think about it, the more I like this one. The Thunderbirds were hoping to earn an at large berth in the playoffs, but that took a big hit with the loss in week 1 against South Dakota State. This game is a must win for them if they want to go to the playoffs. For the Hornets, it will be interesting to see if there is a hangover from their big win over Oregon State. That win has placed them squarely on the national stage and a loss here could knock them back to earth.

Hmm, that includes deducing that we have no running game based on one performance against a Pac-12 team where we threw for almost 500 yards?cats2506 wrote:I remain objective about all other teams including the EWOOOO iggles.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:

Yeah, that's a laugh. I can't tell if your blue and gold glasses are just that dark, or McGhee's jizz is in your eyes, but you're one of the biggest homers out there.

last 3 games without TJ you have averaged 59 yrds/game
vs nova 113
vs UD 25
vs UW 31
Your best RB had 3.8 yrds per carry vs UW
MSU best RB had 5.3 yrds /carry vs UU (a much better defense)
All I said is that it is a weakness until EWOOOO proves that it isnt
