Kickoff scheduled for 1 pm PDT in the first game for the Vikings at newly renovated Jeld-Wen Field in downtown Portland. The stadium went through an extensive renovation project for the professional soccer team, the Portland Timbers. This is the first game of the year for the Vikings and the start of the second year for Coach Burton. Indications are that Connor Kavanaugh will start at quarterback, however Burton has said he will not decide between Kavanaugh and Drew Hubel until gametime. This is the second game of the year for the Raiders, who are playing an NAIA independent schedule this year in preparation for entrance into the NAIA's Frontier Conference next year. They lost last week in double overtime to future conference foe Montana Tech. Weather is supposed to be beautiful, sunny with temps in the 80's, to near 90 by the end. The game time was moved up to avoid conflict with the Oregon/LSU game later on.

So we won 52-0. What did we learn? Practically nothing other than we can destroy a NAIA team. We did play a lot of people so I guess it was a little bit better than the spring game. I guess we'll call it end of fall practice game. Only difference is I paid money for this game. I feel cheated.
