The great thing about FCS football is that it isn't decided by a bunch of pencil pushers sitting behind a desk and saying oh, this conference is the strongest, or this team is the best. Yes, there are some politics to this process of chooseing the teams that make the playoffs, hence CAA getting 5 picks, but they should rightfully get more picks, they have more teams than most conferences. If they were split into two conferences, they would each get 2, just like every other conference. Now back to the strongest conference thing. I don't think that anyone has a right to say if any conference is stronger until they find out who the national champion is. Than "that conference was the strongest" they won it all. If Richmond wins, than i guess CAA is strongest, being that Richmond didn't even win their conference. If Montana wins, than i guess the BSC is the strongest because they got Co-Champions of the Big Sky Conference. So until a team wins the title how about we just don't talk about the strongest Conference.
P.S. for all those that are going to Chatty from Montana, remember that Carrol College will also be playing in a National Championship game only 65 miles or so from Chatty, one more team from Montana in a NC... guess Montana can play football. LOL, just kidding

Of course, a conference (as 89Hen will be on here to point out) is more than just ONE team.

I know that a conference is more than just one team, but my point is that people argue about this stupid point way too much. They need to back off of it, and just see who wins. And than they can go back and look at all the games and how each team did. Like i said, if montana wins, they can look back at games and start to break down how the two conferences would have lined up. Montana had some close games, and so did Richmond, so you can argue about the strongest conference after the NC. The biggest point was that it isn't decided by Us. It is decided by the two teams on the field.

Don't let it bother you man. I'd concede that the CAA is the strongest overall conference this year. Two teams in the semis versus one for the Big Sky and MVC and none for the SoCon. In other years the argument could work for any of the other strong conferences.
I will say that CAA fans seem to be the most conference oriented in the nation. It would never occur to me to chant SoCon (not that would work very well) if App was winning a game in a CAA venue.
