No way JMU sinks to #25. I know JMU's record was 6-5 or whatever it ended up being last year but no way is JMU FCS #25.
I'd bet $1,000 and give points to half the top 25 listed and I'd be loaded with cash...
We lost a few players and so has everybody else...we beat VT, we beat W&M running a WR wide every single play... c'mon, I know Mickey has is head up his ass with play calling but we are much better than half the listed top #25.

I agree 100% with your statement and I think a lot of people recognize that JMU is definitely a top 25 team. Hell, at the end of last season and 2009 I would argue that JMU was a top 20 team, even at 6-5 (based on who we beat and who we lost to, compared to other teams who were 8-3 or 7-4 and didn't play our schedule) ... and we didn't finish top 25 either year. That being said, when you go 6-5, you really can't expect to get much love, even if you play one of the toughest schedules.
But pre-season polls are useless. If JMU plays the way they should this year they'll end up top 10 ... and their previous reputation should allow them to move into the top 25 and further (and faster) than other programs with less prestige. As frustrating as it is to see JMU outside the top 25 in most of these website's top 25 polls I rest assured knowing that it is just that, pre-season (and often uneducated). I think the AGS poll with JMU at #17 speaks to that and is a fair starting point.

So you should be 12 or 13? Being MUCH BETTER THAN HALF OF THE TOP 25, would put you right about there...

Hazed, who cares? Over on the Zone every season you have JMU fans getting all in a huff over pre season rankings, and I always point out:
-Who cares, pre season polls are as worthless as tits on a bull.
-We don't need no stinkin polls, thats what we have the playoffs for the playoff committee doesn't pick the field off of the polls.
Heck, its not limited to JMU. You see fans on here (and I'm sure about evey message board out there) getting their panties in a bunch over pre season polls that aren't worth the paper they're written on. The only polls that mean anything are the last ones that come out in Jan.

Although I've been suprised not to see JMU higher in this year's preseason polls, BDKJMU has it right.
I recall one publication had the Tribe picked for 2nd last in the CAA south in 2009. Exceding expections makes a good year even better.
Just wondering 89Hen - who's the 1?
The reason why JMU hates playing Liberty is because you all have absolutely sucked after playing us the last two years. Immediately following our game JMU has royally choked in every way. The only good think JMU has done is remain just above .500 to finish the season for the last 2 years while working on a "$62 million stadium" like you're something. If I'm a Montana fan I'm laughing my head off at JMU's 25k promotion. Y'all want to be higher in pointless and worthless preseason rankings, for what? To have something to complain about over you're biased optimistic expectations for your team. Quit complaining over pointless crap. You're just still upset that you crapped away a potential dream season after the VT win.

09' yes in losing @ Hofstra after the Liberty win. Last yr, no. After the Liberty win lost on a last second FG to a UD team that went on to win the NC. That ain't exactly choking.
And a Liberty fan talking about JMU choking the the past 2 seasons. Ain't that the pot calling the kettle black.

Ya we have choked... not to stay above .500... just to keep ourselves out of the playoffs the last 3 years. I was also referring to your whole season... not just 1 game.
The difference is I'm not complaining about where my team is in the top 25. I'm also not in denial over the fact that we have choked. I know it, and I admit it.

Nah. You're the douche of the decade with an outside shot at douche of the century, which would put you in the running for biggest douche of alltime. It's a hell of an accomplishment. You got my vote.
Back on topic, I'd put JMU in the top 20 for sure. Quality program, and there should be a lot of excitement around them this season in their new stadium.

OK. Well I'm not going to breakdown JMU in comparison to every team in the top 25, but if we're going to talk JMU here, let's start with how they're going to improve from 2010. The issue was offense...there was nothing resembling a passing game. How has that changed in 2011? How's the depth on the O-Line? Is there going to be better QB play?

"Yes, well, Towson actually."
