There are certainly some advantages to having a quality bloodline when it comes to being a football player.
Charleston Southern senior linebacker Chris Patrick has quite a pedigree.
Patrick is the nephew of former NFL defensive end Jack Youngblood, a college and pro football hall of famer.
Patrick's mother, Lynn, is Youngblood's sister. Patrick says he's benefited from picking his uncle's brain from time to time. Or is it the other way around?
"He asks me as many questions as I ask him," laughs the 6-0, 215-pounder from Clermont, Fla. "He doesn't like to coach, but he loves to talk about our schemes and our playbook and what kind of tests we take. He loves to hear what we are doing. He's interested in how we do things and he likes to compare things from when he played.

Re: The Youngblood connection
That is some good football genes. One of the Youngblood brothers played the Super Bowl on a broken leg. I wonder if that would even be allowed today....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
