Re: Big Sky Week 4 Predictions
After being so far off the mark last week, there will be no predicted scores from me this week, but here are the Big Sky teams I think will win in Week Four:
Northern Colorado will play well @ Michigan State but the Spartans will prevail.
Eastern Washington will win @ Montana State.
UC Davis @ Weber State : The Wildcats pull their heads out to win a home game.
Northern Arizona @ Idaho State: Lumberjacks roll early in the season, as usual.
Sacramento State @ Montana: Can't call this one. Is Sac State really better this season? Is Montana really in a slump?
P.S. Let SuperHornet have his fun! JALMOND can still weigh in. How often do the Hornets get a chance to beat a ranked team two weeks in a row?

Re: Big Sky Week 4 Predictions
I'm excited to see the game of the week in EWU @ MSU. I dont' know enuf about MSU YET to make a good guess so i'll go with MSU at home to win close. MSU always has good D, they might be able to try and stop TJ.
UC Davis @ Weber State : The Wildcats win big to show the season aint over yet and they aint given up after Sac game.
Northern Arizona @ Idaho State: Lumberjacks destroy Bengals huge.
next most intriguing game after EWU/MSU is in missoula. After sac embarrassed WSU Im hoping they are the real deal and WSU isn't just a crap team.
Sacramento State @ Montana: We will find out if sac is good and more about UM at least in this one...I'll be pulling for Sac, no offense Griz, but sac is 0-15 against yall, i said UM couldnt lose 2 in a row, but 3 in a row and to sac? the 'sky must be falling for that to happen.

Uh, Herky, native's generally fairly close to the actual results, and he agrees with me, at least for my Sky picks.
What's so dumb about them?

Re: Big Sky Week 4 Predictions
NAU 28-10 Idaho St. — The 'Jacks are supposed to be more of a defensive team this year.
Sac State 20-37 Montana — The last time UM hosted Sac for homecoming, the Hornets blew a 20-0 halftime lead.
EWU 28-24 Montana St. — Eagles will escape with consecutive win #8 versus the Bobcats.
Davis 14-38 Weber — The Aggies don't look too good this year.
NoCo 10-45 Michigan St. — No inexplicable FBS upset here.
Sac State 20-37 Montana — The last time UM hosted Sac for homecoming, the Hornets blew a 20-0 halftime lead.

Re: Big Sky Week 4 Predictions
Northern Colorado @ Michigan State - Should be a Spartan rout.
Eastern Washington @ Montana State - MSU is banged up on the interior parts of the line on both sides of the ball. Plus I don't see anyone slowing down TJ this season.
cal-davis @ Weber State - Higgins will find his stride against a weak cal-davis team.
Northern Arizona @ Idaho State - So long as NAU doesn't kick it to Moore, ISU will struggle to put up points.
Sacramento State @ Montana - Tough pick. The homerism and emotional high from the WSU game wants to pick the Hornets, but history and the statistical anomaly of UM losing 3 straight is pretty hard to go against. Sadly, I think I will go with my pre-season prediction of a Hornet loss. I've been battling with this decision all week long.

Re: Big Sky Week 4 Predictions
(Don't pick Montana). So here I am at the start of week four sitting at 19-3. (Don't pick Montana). Pretty good so far but, even though last week was tough, this week will be tougher. Good games and good indications of things to come. I get to watch the whole weekend unfold as I do not have a horse in the race this time. Portland State is the only conference team that is not playing. So this week should be no problem, or maybe a lot of problems. 19-3 so far and hoping for a perfect week as Scream is breathing down my neck. (Don't pick Montana). Here are this week's picks.
EWU at MSU---The biggest conference game in quite awhile that does not involve Montana. Both the Eagles and Bobcats have great aspirations for this year and this game could go a long way towards determining a champion. The Bobcats have looked good. Jones for the Eagles has looked great. The rest of the Eagles, not so good. Edge, Bobcats...MSU 31, EWU 24.
NAU at ISU---The Jacks had two weeks to prepare for their conference opener. The Bengals were coolly put in their place with a loss last week at Northern Colorado. This game will possibly tell more about the Jacks and their season as nothing is really set with games against the likes of Western New Mexico and Arizona State. The Jacks hope to start the year with a win, the Bengals want to show that they belong...NAU 31, ISU 20.
UNC at Michigan State---This is supposed to be a magical season for the Bears and so far, its about middle of the road. Better than previous seasons, but probably not where they wanted to be this year. They beat Idaho State last week and lost on the road to Weber State the week before. Now a trip out of conference to Big 10's Michigan State, who beat Notre Dame last week. A bit of disparity between opponents, so to say...Michigan State 48, UNC 15.
Sac State at UM---(Don't pick Montana). Interesting comparison here. This is not the old Hornet team and, at the surface, this is not the old Grizzly team either. The Hornets seem to be rising, the Grizzlies seem to be falling. The Hornet fans are ecstatic at this opportunity, the Griz fans are scratching their heads. Two of my three misses have been from picking the Grizzlies to win (Don't pick Montana). They can't do it again, can they? Not at home...UM 31, Sac State 27.
UC-Davis at WSU---After playing two conference games right off the bat, the Wildcats step out of conference and welcome future Big Sky member UC-Davis to their home turf. The Wildcats were dispatched as the first victim of two upstarts and ended up splitting the games with Northern Colorado (home) and Sacramento State (road). This is not the first Big Sky opponent for UC-Davis as they lost at home to Portland State earlier...WSU 38, UC-Davis 17.

Re: Big Sky Week 4 Predictions
NAU @ ISU - Teams should not overlook NAU as they go into the season because they will be dangerous. ISU is making strides and their talent level is improving. NAU wins because they are the more complete team.
UM vs EWU - The Griz are starting to dial in their offense and I think they have the best defense in the conference but they have been mistake prone the first couple weeks and have stopped themselves more than the other team stopping them. UM wins going away in the 4th quarter.
UNC vs Michigan State - After watching ISU DE thump the UNC tackles all game, they get introduced to Big Ten football. I love UNC quarterback but he will be running for his life and they don't have Mike Martz's offense to bail them out. Spartans by 30. (If UNC offensive line ever gels and starts blocking people watch out...)
WSU vs UC Davis - Weber is too good of a team and McBride too good of a coach to let this team not rebound and get a win. It will be close though.
EWU vs MSU - MSU has been playing better ball overall but we don't have Taiwan Jones on our team and that will be the difference. EWU wins another close battle.

UNC 7 @ Michigan State 56 Unfortunately for the Bears, this one should be over by half.
EWU 35 @ MSU 31 Best is yet to come for Jones and EWU. Will be a tight game, but Eastern pulls it out.
Sac State 28 @ Montana 31 As much as I'd like for Sac to pull this one off, I just don't see UM losing 3 straight.
NAU 42 @ ISU 14 We'll get a feel for NAU this week as they head to Pokey. Don't see the Jacks dropping this one.
UC-Davis 21 @ Weber State 34 WSU has yet to impress me, but they should get it done at home against a sub-par UC-Davis.

Yea, he has some personal thing against the Cats. It's good for a laugh though, as he picked us to score 3, count em 3 whole points against Ft Lewis.Herky wrote:It's because he's a closet Griz fan. Come on SH, come out of the closet already!Mvemjsunpx wrote:

EWU 24 @ MSU 31 – MSU seems like a more rounded team
UC Davis 10 @ WSU 20- weber gets back on track
NAU 24 @ ISU 0 – nau’s D is its strength this season held Arizona State to 56 rushing yrds 2 weeks ago so im looking for the goose egg.
SAC ST 14 @ Montana 28 – the griz cant drop 3 strait can they? Especially on homecoming……
