Schlickmann, who was named the AD for the Blue Devils in April, begins his four-year term on the committee starting in 2010-11. The role of the FCS ADA is to enhance FCS football. He joins 18 other Directors of Athletics on the committee.
"I am pleased that Northeast Conference Commissioner Noreen Morris nominated me to be a representative of our league on this prestigious committee," Schlickmann said. "It is an honor to serve our FCS membership and a privilege to be associated with such a talented and well respected group of athletics directors. The NEC has done an excellent job of enhancing our FCS football profile and I am excited about working with this group for the next four years."
Schlickmann will join Rhode Island AD Thorr Bjorn and Mark Wilson from Tennessee Tech as the committee's newest members. Their terms begin this fall and will last four years.
"With his insightful, experienced and strategic approach, Paul will be a tremendous representative for the Northeast Conference in his role as a member of the FCS ADA Executive Committee," NEC commissioner Noreen Morris said. "Paul’s service on this committee is especially important as the NEC enters its first season with an automatic qualification into the 2010 FCS Championship."
