Includes an audio piece from Coach Woods, an article (with scrimmage stats) from the Roanoke Times, and the VMI Spring roster (79 names :thumb: , way more than the usual 55-65).

I did not realize the Keydets were going to drop the triple option in favor of a pro style offense. Since most teams are adopting a pro set, I thought VMI had a recruiting advantage for some smaller, but very good athletes that benefited from the triple option. It will be interesting to see how quickly they adjust and if the coaching staff will follow through. It could make for a difficult season and the knee jerk reaction may be to return to the "old familiar" offense.

I'm just glad Tim Maypray will not be in uniform next season. He was a threat to go the distance on every play.

Thanks for posting, KD. Good to have you guys back on the Tribe schedule. I hope they bring the corps to Williamsburg for the game.

I think you guys got a good one at QB in Adam Morgan. He's out of the same mold as Kyle Hughes...tough and efficient.
Go Tribe!!!

Sparky has been planning the "new" playbook since November 25th or so :thumb: . Not a knee-jerk reaction, he really isn't a triple coach, he just ran it because of the personnel and asst. coaches he "inherited" from Jim Reid.

From what I saw Saturday, they looked pretty good on offense, for just having 10 practices. VMI does have the personnel for "The Phalanx",

......just need to practice, practice, practice. ....The progression of the Off. Line will be key, transitioning to drop-back pass blocking, and run drive blocking. :coffee:
