Mickey is holding a signing event around 5:45... don't know if we will hear anything before then about who has been signed, but if the "strong verbal" commitments stick with JMU, it looks like a pretty good class. I also don't think the event is being broadcast on MADIZone or anything like that. Who knows.

Re: Signing Day
Get used to it Pop. But, I will say I have seen improvements in GW's reporting just in the year that our family has been associated with the program. Our Sports Information Dept is overworked and they have to chase all of our athletes around. Overall, they do a very good job of reporting the heavy news, but, if you're a big school [South Carolina] message board junkie like me and you want to know what color gym shorts Stephen Garcia wore to his first morning workout, you're not going to be able to get that info on GW.BigDawgPop wrote:Wish G-dub had one of those!!!
However, you could give us some info yourself - has Jacob signed and faxed his LOI yet? If so, welcome aboard.

Re: Signing Day
Yep, Graham Fisher is going to Boone and Tuscola's QB in heading to NC State. WCU also got a preferred walk on from Tuscola's rival Pisgah. We should name about 5 more today as I think we had 23 to give. Outside of those 2 kids, WCU didn't hit WNC hard. In fact, WNC was kind of down this year across the board as it related to D1/D1AA talent. I hope the ACT has a list tomorrow. BTW, got all my paperwork signed yesterday and I come on board Monday morning. I so hope this job will last.ASUG8 wrote:I see you picked up one of the Tuscola boyscatamount man wrote:WCU has 18 so far, 6 already on campus.

Re: Signing Day
We only lost 13 players and we got 13 signings today. Missing is one Austin Kirpes who was shown this morning in TXST gear on the front page of the Houston Chronicle, but has yet to sign. No reason given other than his coach said, he will not today but soon. WTF?
Anyway, here's our signees.....

Has there been an "official" release yet or is this still just "source" information.DukeJack wrote:JMU signed 19 players:

Re: Signing Day
It's from Mike Barber who said those were the 19 LOIs received, but we should know for absolute certainty in the next hour or so with Mickey's press "conference"/announcement whatever.JMU DJ wrote:Has there been an "official" release yet or is this still just "source" information.
Simmons looks like a beast
4.39 speed, Rival's #16 all-purpose back, he looks like he will be what Holloman should have before the injuries/surgery. I usually don't get excited about signings, it's at least 2-3 years before anyone knows how these kids will turn out, but Simmons....he could be something special.
