I went home for lunch and the local news was reporting that John Wiley was leaving ASU to become the DC at ECU.
Is this old news here? I looked around and couldn't find it, but thought it was odd that I was receiving fresh FCS news from our local station.
Anyway, that's what they reported.
Nevermind, search found it tucked in the Let's Talk FCS thread...
Wiley to ECU?
Re: Wiley to ECU?
Looking at footballscoop, it's saying that Wiley will NOT be the DC. Brian Mitchell will be the DC and Wiley will be the linebackers/Asst. Head Coach.

I'm glad to see Coach Wiley have an opportunity to move forward with his career, but for very selfish reasons I hate to see it happen. App has a lot to replace this off-season.

I had no idea that he was that close to Ruffin McNeil. Nice move for him.

It is a nice move. And nice to see Ruffin moving up as well. Coach Moore's assistants are doing well.

Yes they are VERY close. In fact I was told that had McNeil been named the HC at Texas Tech that Wiley was likely to join him out there.mcveyrl wrote:AshevilleApp wrote:I'm glad to see Coach Wiley have an opportunity to move forward with his career, but for very selfish reasons I hate to see it happen. Hate to see coach Wiley go, but can't blame him. Great opportunity to get a promotion to FBS, promotion to Asst. Head Coach, and to work with a good friend without having to move very far. Congrats to him.
