3-bid Big Sky?
How much does a loss by UNI, McNeese, or Elon increase the possibility of a third Big Sky team (EWU 8-3, MSU 8-3, WSU 7-4) getting in?

You're reading my mind. I was just doing some research regarding what OTHER 8-2 teams there are out there that are 'on the bubble', so to speak, and wondering what it would take for the Sky to get 3 teams in.kalm wrote:How much does a loss by UNI, McNeese, or Elon increase the possibility of a third Big Sky team (EWU 8-3, MSU 8-3, WSU 7-4) getting in?
UNH is 8-2, what if they lost to Maine?
McNeese State is 8-2, what if they lost to UCA and SFA got the autobid? Is it possible the Southland is a one bid league?
Elon is 8-2, what if they lose to Samford?
What if SDSU (7-3) loses to Western Illinois?
What if UNI (7-3) loses to Illinois State?
And what if EWU, Weber and MSU all win? And all of those things are NOT out of the realm of possibility (with the exception of MSU beating the Griz and SDSU losing to Western Illinois).
Then what does the committee do? Big Sky fans should be fans of Maine, UCA, Samford, Western Illinois and Illinois State this weekend.

I find the McNeese situation really interesting. If they finish 8-3 they would include a DII win (Henderson State) and a win against Savannah State - a DI partial schollie that has lost twice to NAIA teams this year. McNeese's quality win against Appalachian State would be no better than an MSU win over the Griz, and would also take a hit if Elon lost.AZGrizFan wrote:You're reading my mind. If Elon loses to Samford, they will finish at 8-3, but with 2 losses to end the season.
UNH is not a lock at 8-3 since that means they will also have finished with 2 losses.
The 7-3 teams you listed must win or they are likely out.
Should be a good weekend of football.
Re: 3-bid Big Sky?
If MSU wins out then they should get in as they would have a record of 8-4 with wins over the #119(at the time) and #2 team in the nation. If they lose they're out.
EWU has a very legit shot of getting in if they win this upcoming weekend.

If MSU gets to 8-4, I'd give them the #1 seed.bpcats wrote:If MSU wins out then they should get in as they would have a record of 8-4 with wins over the #119(at the time) and #2 team in the nation. If they lose they're out.
