Weber does not belong in the playoffs - period - that team out there today was terrible...AZGrizFan wrote:33 carries

but he also had some HOLES that even these two could have made positive yardage on...

Hell, Jones did better than that in one quarter against the Griz!AZGrizFan wrote:Oh, by the way:
Trevyn Smith, Weber's "all world" running back:
20 carries
64 yards
3.2 ypc average
Longest run: 10 yards.

That is because both of their QB's came to play against the Griz. Higgins forgot to get off the bus...EWURanger wrote:Both NAU and EWU played Montana waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay closer than Weber. Weber, you dissapoint.

Jones average is higher than that... for the season.Grizalltheway wrote:Damn, 7.1 yards per.

Jones may have a higher average per rush...but Chase just jumped to the top of the Big Sky in rushing yards per game (he was fifth before this game). Chase is now at 102.75. Jones is at 100.33.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Jones average is higher than that... for the season.Grizalltheway wrote:Damn, 7.1 yards per.

If Jones got the number of carries that Chase or Smith got, it wouldn't even be close. That 2.4 yard per game difference is less than a 1/3 carry a game for Jones.

Obviously, in this case, because Jones has played one more game than Reynolds.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Not to mention Jones still leads the Sky in total rushing yards by 81. Jones and Reynolds are tied on both rushing and receiving TDs.

EWURanger wrote:Completely different running styles, completely different backs.
Jones is just not a north-south type runner like Reynolds is, but I think he is more versatile and definitely fits into an offensive scheme that is traditionally finesse-oriented and relies on the skill positions. Jones is not great between the tackles - but damn can he make people miss. He's also a big-time threat catching passes out of the flats.
On the other hand, he definitely doesn't have the durability Reynolds does.
Reynolds will run you over, whereas Jones will run around you.

A lot of good comments in this thread about these two fine backs (not to mention Smith and others).Chizzang wrote:Neither team would trade (straight up) for the other guy...!!!
Montana wants the guy they have and Eastern wants the guy they have...
Only one of the two guys will likely be playing in 4 weeks...
