Should EA put FCS schools back on NCAA football

I love NCAA football, but my favorite part was putting in FCS schools and watch them grow in dynasty mode. WIth the build a team mode you can put them back in the game, but does anyone feel like the game was better when they were already on there?

I built a UNI team, but I didn't like playing with them in the B10 or B12, etc... Instead I created a fake team and play with the Central State Clippers and take Colorado out of the B12 and put them in the MWC conference for Wyoming and leave them out.


The ultimate would be fore them, or any gamemaker, to make a realistic FCS game

That would be great although I dont see EA doing it. 2K sports should think about doing it. And I like the chances of it happening more now since Doug Williams' release of Black College Football. Hopefully it'll happen soon because it'll be a must have for me

I don't know if anyone other than EA can do it though. I don't know how far the EA owning of the NCAA licensing goes. I don't know if it covers only FBS schools, or all D1, since they have the school logos built into the team builder function. However, the release of the Black College Football may have found some loophole in the contract.

However, I would love to see 2K do it if they can. I love 2K games. IMHO they blow EA out of the water and that is why EA bought the licensing like they did. They no longer have to really try to put out a good game because they have the entire sport at their mercy.

That's true, there's not another company making college football games so they are leaving alot out that they used to put in. And there has to be some loopholes somewhere, dont know if there's enough for anyone right now to try it. But the dynamic in FCS football is different than FBS they can make it an entirely different game than NCAA

They could, but I'm not sure that they can use school names or logos, which makes it a very generic football game, which likely would be ripped apart.

And that would really ruin the concept and feel for the game. someone needs to look into that. Or even a joint FCS D2 game where D2 teams could get invites to FCS conf. Now that might be asking for too much; but it'll stillbe nice

There's probably some wiggle room regarding the licensing issue, since this game featuring FCS teams was made:

Of course, it's possible they had to pay EA part of the royalties.

and that game is the reason why I think it can be done...Doug Williams' already has had talks with a couple conf about being in next yrs edition from what Ive heard. I hope next yrs version is better, looks a little generic, but it's something different

An FCS game would absolutely never happen. No one besides the people that read this forum would buy it.

Yes, they should include the FCS teams back into the game, it was a lot cooler when they had them.
