Hey dipshit. you obviously havent been watching nau football as long as i have. what im trying to say here is this shouldnt be enough to get him off the hook. has he figured it out? seems like it but its too soon to know for sure. im sure you all were calling for his job the last couple of seasons. but then he wins seven games and we are just gonna forget those awful seasons of the past? im not taking anything away from what he has done this season, its great and i hope it continues but ultimately the coach deserves the responsibility for those midseason collapses. what i meant by this post is to wait and see how this plays out. people are asking for us to vote him coach of the year? come on now lets not crown him yet. go jacksNAUJacks wrote:I'm with Ocean on this one...explain yourself. The team is 7-1 and they are practicing and playing with a great attitude. STF up about the coach and be a true fan and watch and enjoy this special season. Your pissin me off as much as some of the Griz fans did before the season but kudos to them they are REAL knowledgable football fans and have great pride in their program.
And as far as the other teams they may have had talent but they never finished. They also didnt have the right attitude or commitment. I heard horror stories and personally saw that a lot of those guys never gave a sh%t. The partied and went soft. They didn't put half the work in this current team did and it is paying off. These guys were in Flagstaff all summer workin it.This team has a chip on their shoulder and they are tough MF's.
Sure NAU had talent before but they never performed up to their potential. Stop blaming the Fuc&in Coach man. And by the way where wer you before the season started?

i dont think its outrageous for me to be pessimistic about this guy. we have had quality teams in the past that should have finished way better than they did. we havent proven ANYTHING yet. go jacks we will really see what we are made of in these next three games

you must be a walk-on, or maybe a family member of a player? not me. im an objective fan with no personal ties. all i care about is my university that i have TREMENDOUS pride in, and that it is represented the way it should be on the football field.NAUJacks wrote:Oh and by the way don't disrespect Bauman by dissin the Coach he has great respect for. so to get back to my original purpose of making this thread. my heart is telling me 10-1, but my mind is saying 9-2. i dont think we lose both home games, but both of those teams are no joke. go jacks beat isu

For your info Jacksdude no walk on was good enough to make this team.
You weren't here before the season started putting up with all the Griz hysteria. You jumped on the bandwagon.
If you want to talk about the team and the games fine be a fan but don't sh%t in your own backyard bro.Its embarassing.
GO JACKS!

Obviously you haven't been instructed in fine literature and/or you can't Google. It is a mythical rooster from Canterbury tales. It's a stupid mascot.NAUJacks wrote:"I'm surprised that hasn't been posted."

Also, I didn't poke fun at your mascot. When your period is over, come back. Until then, quit being a sensitive cunt.

I agree Oceanvue, He is a former player on one of those mediocre teams who is pissed at Souers because he is finally having the kind of success NAU has pined for and it wasn't with his team. Re: Is NAU the real deal?
It is interesting to see more NAU posters here - welcome all!
Just some background - I started at NAU in 1983, so have seen many years of bad football, some decent ball under Axman, and the inconsistancy that has marked the Souers era.
I have called for his removal in the past - NAU has had to much talent, and has too fertile of a recruiting area to NOT dominate the Big Sky year after year. Souers' teams have rarely played to the level of talent.
I am hopeful that the wins over UNLV and Montana have meant that the Jacks have turned the corner. But they still need a good run in the playoffs.
Souers has earned another year, but the leash needs to be short.
And BTW - one of my fraternity brothers (and a very good friend) has a son on this team, so I have personal connections to the team as well.

I would trust the insight of a former player over that of myopic, overzealous player parents or fans approaching SH levels.JackParty wrote:I agree Oceanvue, He is a former player on one of those mediocre teams who is pissed at Souers because he is finally having the kind of success NAU has pined for and it wasn't with his team. Would you still be defending Jerome if NAU was 4-4 or 3-5 right now, as they have been for nearly the past decade? Methinks not.

I think you need to focus on Cal Poly. Good luck by the way. Should be a good one Circle Jerk.
Yeah, even my old avatar got me confused as a Cat fan.
But thanks to a bet with SE, and Jim Harbaugh not taking a safety vs. Seattle, I'm stuck with this hideous thing until Dec. 23.
Also hilarious to see the bandwagon fans roll out of the woodwork for NAU.
Jon will be the only one here again next year.
