Not really.

Montana playoff enders:

1993 L Delaware (@ Wa-Griz)
2004 L JMU
2006 L UMass (@ Wa-Griz)
2008 L Richmond

And of course, a losing record against CAA/A-10/Yankee teams in the playoffs.

We understand where your frustration is rooted. Trust us, we understand. We play these teams week in and week out while you play the slop out there.

The Big Fluff isn't terrible by any means. It's clearly the third or fourth best conference in FCS year in and year out. That ought to count for something.

The problem is when you guys have to stray from Wa-Griz. You guys are an impotent 2-10 in the playoffs outside it in FCS/I-AA. That's just brutal. Delaware has seven FCS/I-AA road playoff wins to your two. :coffee:

Call it the Big Fluff, but conference play gets the Griz ready for the playoffs.

P.S. The NCAA needs to get rid of this regionalization crap. Last year I would have loved Weber, Poly and the Griz to each get a shot at someone from the east. Not saying they would have won but it would have been fun to watch.
And since we all know that'll never happen, the ECB can continue because their lame ass theory never gets tested. Weber beats Cal Poly, Montana beats Weber, and we go ANOTHER year without a western team able to get past Montana. :shake: :shake: Meanwhile, east coast teams get DSU, Fordham, etc.
Montana makes so much money....step up and offer the NCAA to foot the bills for the West Coast teams to travel...otherwise, stfu...the NCAA pays the bills and does it on the cheap...you know that....

Wow, you just keep piling on the wrong side of your arguement.

Let's see 4-3 = .571

During the same time the Griz were 59-8 vs the BSC = .880

Last time I checked, .571 doesn't get you in the playoffs... unless of course you're Montana State

Four different CAA teams have National Championships since 1998 and seven different CAA teams have been to at least the semis since 2002. And FWIW, the year the Hens went 15-1 and won the NC, their lone loss was to Northeastern. Go figure.

Boy, you keep stepping in it. Since regionalization started in 2001, the Big Sky would have been set to play themselves in the second round only twice with last year being the only time it's actually happened.

I don't doubt that...I'm not knocking Montana...but the cry of ECB rings pretty hollow when you consider two things...

1. The NCAA is the sugar daddy of the playoffs....as long as that is the case, we play by their rules...stop bashing east coast teams for something that comes out of friggin' Kansas...

2. The FCS is a majority east coast bunch...sorry, it's the truth...over 60 per cent of the teams are east of a line drawn north/south through eastern Ohio...Youngstown State is almost the epi-center of FCS football...so the majority of playoff teams are going to come from east of the Mississippi...

Dizzying....you've now changed the argument TWICE--IN THE SAME POST! NOW you want to go back and include games from 15 years ago? And now we want to discuss road records? Who ended JMU's season last year---AT JMU? Should we start including teams from the Big Sky that are now I-A? Christ on a crutch, man. Just admit it----you're jealous as HELL that YOUR team doesn't have the ability to EVER make the playoffs 16 straight seasons. That YOUR team doesn't have 6 NC game appearances (and probably won't in your lifetime), and that YOUR team doesn't have 2 national titles.

We get it.

My problem Col, is that the NCAA is a POS and doesn't run its one and only football championship like it should. It should seed 16 teams and let it run. If I remember correctly the NCAA takes 80% of playoff ticket revenue - in addition to the guarantees and the schools need to charge no less that the cheapest ticket price during the season. If Montana and App sell out just one game then the NCAA garners, lets see (Montana sells 25k @ $26 = $650k x 80% = $520k) and I am sure the amount would be similar for an App home game. The east coast games also have a home guarantee so tell me where all this money goes. Lets say it costs the NCAA $200k to send Montana east or someone west, the take from a Montana game alone covers two trips.....may not be ECB but it is a crappy argument to keep regionalization.
