It's akin to subtle differences in the English language by locals. 1 mile from where I grew up, they pronounced Schedule as Shedule, and about was pronounced aboot, and the letter Z is pronounced Zed. University of Manitoba calls their sports teams Bisons, similar to how 88 pronounces it.

So the Bizon are kind of like the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawkz, Harvard Crimzon, Oklahoma Zooners, etc.

Don't forget the Utah Falconz....

Saying fact without putting down the Griz fans, versus Saying facts will putting down Bison fans. There is a difference.

I'm not poking fun at all bizumb fans, just the thin-skinned ones who are anal retentive about how bison is pronounced. It wouldn't be nearly as much fun to poke fun of them if they didn't get their panties in such a bunch.

NDSU admits, on official university communications/websites, they are the only people to use the Z sound.

They know, and admit, to doing it wrong.
