Congratulations SDSU. I'm happy for you guys. But that stadium kinda sucks. Just like SIU, Charlotte & UC Davis. Cookie cutter, small, D2 sized stadium. I want more for FCS, especially when building a stadium from scratch. Charlotte's & UC Davis' stadium doesn't impress anyone and neither does this Dykehouse bullshit. No thanks... I'll take the Inferno @ Roos.

Also, DII sized? It seats more than the Fargodome. The west side probably seats more than the maxi pad does. Hell, CAS seated more than the red gash, and as much as I loved the place it was a dump.

You mean something like the largest video board in FCS? Big enough they can shut the lights off and light the stadium in blue for intros? Or did you mean something along the lines of a carny attraction?

If you look close at where they are putting in the turf you can see some equipment that will give you some scale to the size of the place. Pictures don't do its size true justice.

Not that I care to defend the Carlotte Hwy 49ers and the Richardson Rinky-Dink venue, but it was designed that way to add something like 30 luxury suites with an eventual capacity of 40k.

They dream big when it comes to spending North Carolina taxpayer dollars.

This will admittedly be an extremely important season for attendance growth. If they have a good year and don't drop any games at home and manage to steal a game at UNI or NDSU with a deep playoff run I think you see the attendance explode. Every bison fan loves to say that, but the reality is that our attendance average was over the amount of seats available for many years. The only games a lot of fans deemed worth being in SRO for were the Marker game and the beat down of the varmints. Most poorly attended games were at the end of the year in bad weather. That's going to happen for a while without a dome. With how this year is set up for games with only one late home game that isn't a marquee game (Hobo Day, Marker Game, usd Game) this year should blow the attendance record out of the water if the team does well IMHO. Last year was a great chance to grow support until we shit the bed against NDSU, and this year is another great opportunity. I think the new stadium is going to have a much more big time feel that will be able to draw a lot of people from Sioux Falls if the team takes advantage of the opportunity. That being said, update on the progress for you guys who don't wander over to AGS.

Is it the track around the field or the junior high bleachers on the visitors side that impresses you most?
