Maine dropped 62 points on the Blue Hens. If we played Delaware, we would have had the second string in by the middle of the third quarter. No use risking injury against the bottom half of the FCS.
Let's not try to compare Fordham to an FCS power.
We'll reload and get to our fourth post 9/11 national championship game in a year or two.
Meanwhile, an autobid round win is the highlight of your modern history. Youch.

Joe, pretty early to be sipping alcohol. Fordham had a great year but Delaware would have given you all you could handle. There were 7 teams in the CAA capable of beating Fordham this year. Be thankful you were in the P league and congrats on you miracle win against Nova.

Joe,
I’m still waiting for Fordham to stop Towson. Oh wait…they punted one time. Once, Joe. You had no answer against Towson…none. 48 points Joe, and it could have been much, much, worse. Athens was 13-15 and they averaged over 20 yards per catch. Your players were bouncing off Victor (105 yards) – he averaged 8.8 yards per carry, Joe...think about that. Not once did you stop Towson in the second half...the game wasn't close. And in the first half, the only reason Fordham was in it was because of simple Towson mistakes...not anything that Fordham forced.
1) Running into the kicker - not Fordham's doing. That cost Towson a possession and ended up with one of your team's scores.
2) Fumbling the punt. Ditto.
3) A freak squib kick unintentionally hits a Towson player and gives Fordham the ball back.
Those are three possessions that Towson's offense would have been on the field to score again. That's football, and teams make mistakes, but don't confuse those unforced errors with any idea that Fordham could have stopped Towson, because the reality was that it simply wasn't happening.
I mean, you do realize that Towson had 21 points in the first half on only 25 snaps, right? And they were not stopped on any of their second half possessions (and were easily driving the field on their last possession - see Rams bouncing off Victor again - before they took a knee).
ESPN has the game on for review. Watch reality smack Fordham in the face. Fordham was outclassed by a mile. Decent passing offense, zero running offense, zero defense. You might have won some games against Big Fluffy teams, but Towson would win any rematch...and win big, again and again.
Oh, and check out that punt again, on your HDTV.
Funny, but the ESPN radio report commentator in New York said the game was closer than the final score; Fordham had more first downs, and Towson only out-gained by Fordham by about 60 yards. But what do the professional commentators know?
Towson is an excellent team, but we held our own and we bring back pretty much the same team next year.
Oh, and Nebrich has been given another year due to his injury next year. We have him for two more seasons.
We had a great year and in no game did we give up 62 points.
Great job of avoiding any counter to the facts I laid out. When was Fordham planning on stopping Towson?
Your radio commentator must have been drinking because Towson mashed Fordham by 20, and that is with Towson trying to give the game away with a boatload of unforced errors. Fordham was unable to stop Towson...Towson scored on every second half possession, and was driving for another score before they took a knee to end the game. Your defenders crumbled when hit...and the only hope they had was to pray for some sort of divine intervention to stop Victor and West. Heck, divine intervention was the only thing that prevented Towson from getting two more scores in the first half, but even God gave up trying to help Fordham after that.
And I am not worried about our 62 points to Maine...our DC will be gone (not soon enough, though, because he is a friend of the coach) and UD will be back in the hunt while flash-in-the-pan Fordham goes back to the dump.

I was actually impressed with your ability to create a fictitious story based on a true event.
Maybe in your next post, you can create a fictional story which is completely a product of your imagination, and not based on a true event -- perhaps a story about the 2013 Delaware playoff games.
East Fordham Rd has been renamed West Victor Avenue. Fordham's football players have been banned from walking on that road due to safety concerns. Passing lanes are wide open, and drivers are advised to keep on trucking through without worrying about being stopped.
