Well, Pitt is already playing Youngstown State, so they're probably off the radar for 2012. And you've already GOT a cupcake FCS team on your schedule--Robert Morris.

I'm fairly sure Ohio State hasn't called. Tressel (and eventually Meyer) don't schedule FCS teams. They like to schedule area MAC teams and a couple BCS schools to play for their non-conference games. No reason for them to call UNI.


I won't completely rule it out since Tressel was a FCS coach once upon a time, but I'd say the odds Ohio State asked UNI for a game are less than 99%.

It was a radio,news guy that brought this up. I'm sure every program gets calls every year from multiple FBS programs. I know NDSU chose to play Central Michigan in 07 and they turned down an Iowa offer (it was a Big 10 team, not 100% sure it was Iowa), but the coaches didn't want to play 2 Big 10 teams in a single season.

People can relax, its the offseason and there is nothing else to talk about.

Also, doen't YSU play Ohio State once in a while.

What ever is happeing at NDSU is of great interest to this division. If a 2013 cal poly schedule turns your crank you should certainly be interested in whats going on with the champions. The NDSU BISON are The FCS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS!

Its important for other programs that might be on the downward spiral or programs that are trying to build to study the NDSU scheduling model.
