Didn't know the Griz were afraid of UND.

NDSU offered UND an initial 4 year home and home contract, but UND was afraid it would hurt their playoff chances, so UND rejected the offer.

UND coaches wanted to play NDSU on an even field. I guess even to NDSU means more scholarships for NDSU vs DII scholarships for UND. It would be like NDSU doing a home and home every year with Nebraska. Why don't they set that up. To NDSU thats an even playing field.

That is all a rediculous lie. What darell is spouting is the excuse why they quit, but it doesnt eplain why they quit in all sports. There were no playoff implications in sports other than football. The reason UND quit is because they were fighting sioux mad that NDSU was going to upset their apple cart. They thought they had it made as a D2, competing in most sports on the cheap, and playing hockey out of class with D1 schools. So, they decided to punish NDSU!

UND had an opportunity to join NDSU and SDSU, but Roger Thomas etal, decided NDSU and SDSU would fail in the move to Division I and were afraid to take the next step themselves.

UND quit..fine you think so but what about now when UND wanted to play NDSU every year and GT said no because they want 6 home games every year. Well if the series was still going NDSU would have stopped that rivalry when they joined the MVFC so they can have their 6 home games, and if you don't believe that you are drinking too much green and yellow kool-aid.

No they wouldn't or else UND would have been in the MVFC in 2008 and USD would have been on the outside when both teams moved in 2008. NDSU wouldn't have gotten into the MVFC if SDSU didn't tell them they were a packaged deal. Remember that NDSU tried to get into a conference on their own (Big Sky) and twice was shot down. UND had ZERO chance at the MVFC (2010) and thats just a fact. If all 4 teams moved at once you think UND had any shot...or NDSU at that matter? No they would have taken SDSU, and USD. So indeed NDSU would have stopped the rival because I don't see them doing home and home's for infinity years.

It is the most popular venue in the history of North Dakota and hosts the largest crowds ever to see a sporting event in the history of the state.

The phones are starting to ring. A group is now moving from the Town Hall Bar in West Fargo to the tailgate lot on the west side of the insanely popular Fabulous Fargo Dome. These folk represent West Fargo Football and are BISON all the way. Some of their boys have worn the "Green and Gold" They are in the first row by the trees off the north end. Also, stop in and say hi to the Master-Gaters. They are off the north end too by pole f. All of these folks represent the heart and soul of NDSU BISON Football.

This is Game Day, the Big Game atmosphere has been pumping up this town since the big bird chugged in from Georgia.

The entire FCS football world is focused on this game. The Fabulous Fargo Dome stands ready at the center of the FCS world. Through-out the night the legendary venue has been bathed with the glow of the million candle lamps used to illuminate the facilities jaw-dropping exterior. Now its bathed in the warm sunshine of this late fall day. Its 19 degrees in Fargo and the tailgate is roaring!

Hod it,....call coming in.....Im told the lights are now on at Dacotah Field! Many BISON fans are paying homage at the sacred ground. A roar comes up as the throng starts to chant "Here We Go BISON Here We Go!" The traditions are stirring. The energy is rising. The game plan has been set.

Coaches are now with the players. Its a very fit, very talented bunch that is focused on one thing: polishing the game plan to perfection.

Each player is keenly aware of how important they are to the Herd. They are BISON and the strength of the Herd is The BISON, the Strength of The BISON The Herd!

Sunny anbd 30 in Fargo. We are getting some calls and the tailgate is nearing controlled chaos with all the energy being directed at the Fabulous Fargo Dome and the win. The Big Game atmoshper is unbelievabe. There is a certain amount of nervousness mixed in with the anticipation and the crowd is really getting primed. Im told the GSU fans are wonderful and fitting right in!

Coming up on 30 minutes to kickoff and the crowd is starting to move into the Fabulous Fargo Dome for the biggest game to date!
