UNI beat NDSU 10-9 last year didnt they. Hardly a beat down. Circumstantial victory and certainly not decisive.

So you have some second hand information do you now? Take that someplace and see what its worth?

They beat us 16-9, sacked our QB 11 times and we rushed for -40 yards. Oh and they put up 262 yards rushing against us. Thankfully they played a rather sloppy game offensively and in special teams, which kept the game much closer than it should have been.

But like I've maintained since that game, it was the best thing to happen to us. It forced the coaches to make some adjustments and those adjustments are still paying off to this day.

You may not have noticed but last year NDSU had a very young team. It was inconsistant. The UNI game was certainly one of the first big games for the bend dont break defense we had last year. We were outgained in almost every game. We had Jose Mohlar at QB. He made a lot of mistakes. We were coming off what was a very physical and exhilarating win. It was a circumstantial win for UNI, not conclusive and means nothing regarding this years game.

I agree it has no bearing on this year's game, this Bison team has come a long way since then. But they did kick our ass on that day, it is ok to admit it. It was a solid win for UNI, they beat us up and down the field and got a very important conference win.

As pointed out in pre season discussions this was a win of opportunity for UNI. Certainly it wasnt definitive in any way. The playoff results bear that point out.

With all the bragging it was 10-9. You might also remember NDSU was on the road for the second game in a row. The previous week they had enjoyed one of the nations most surprising upsets when they defeated the Mighty Kansas Jayhawks. You might laugh at that but that team had a lot of great athletes that played the game hard.

The last time the Panthers were in the insanely popular and prestigious Fabulous Fargo Dome the BISON were 3-8. It was the first year of the new dynasty.

One might say that it was a "moral victory" for NDSU.

JBB, if you just come out and say something like this I will NEVER bring up last year's game again. Just admit when you lost. Admit when you get your ass handed to you.

I've already said that if NDSU beats UNI this year, I will give them credit. Just man up for once, and do the same.
