Yea, you actually have to watch a team play before you can make a judgement. At NC State we were within 9 with 9 minutes int he game. Then then TOs mounted and it was over. The Defense got us there and were holding very well against an ACC offence thank you.

Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
Not really sure why you guys would be pulling against a fellow CAA team....especially to lose against a frigging Big South team at that. Don't you understand that hurts your chances of getting in the play-offs too? Go CAA!!!93henfan wrote:I'll drink to that, even though Liberty students won't.∞∞∞ wrote:I don't care about the analysis...just want Liberty to absolutely smash JMU.

I got a little excited about the game, oh well. All us that that went to LU have pride for our school, especially football. We are all different and are not all reserved or conservative. This will be a great game and a barn burner. I do kiss my mom with these lips. Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
I was completely wrong. LU is just getting manhandled. I can't believe I let myself think we had a chance, the JMU lines are way too strong to handle, and JMU is executing 100 times better.

These guys on the Liberty network are full of shit. Definite clip, no question about it

Yeah, they're REALLY bad.youngterrier wrote:These guys on the Liberty network are full of shit. Definite clip, no question about it
Also, LU's All American Kicker, Matt Bevins, is out. Done for the night.

Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
and the JMU hits aren't as dirty as they are describing them. The last RTP was questionable IMO, I didn't see helmet to helmet contact, he just hit him a half second late. I wouldn't have thrown the flagToTheLeft wrote:Yeah, they're REALLY bad.youngterrier wrote:These guys on the Liberty network are full of shit. Definite clip, no question about it

Boring game thus far. Haven't voted for either yet. Winner might break in.

We've got Jesus (clap clap clap clap clap) . We've got Jesus.

Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
JMU wins on a last second field goal, because LU's defense simply refused to win.

Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
DUKES!! I love how the Flames Network Announcers called this a "rivalry game"....wouldn't that mean that Liberty actually won every now and then? Announcers were horrible and the refs were horrible and made terrible calls against both teams. Worst was they called a simultaneous catch/reception for Liberty in 4th qtr when the LU receiver only had one hand on the ball.....clearly an interception. Nice effort LU, good news is that Big South play starts soon

Brown is good...
I know this will catch the ire of the CAA fans out there, but I don't think JMU will face a better one this season (we don't have UD or Towson).

Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
Good game over all. Great game atmosphere at Liberty. Was really happy to come out with the win. Liberty is really good. I concur with others about the horrible calls. Oh, and kudos to coach Rocco for kicking the Liberty player out of the game for causing a late hit off the bench-player wasn't in the game.
The one thing that worries me a little with the Dukes is their defense. They seem to allow teams to catch the ball on them.

Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
All of us Liberty fans can stop crying for more respect now. We never finish big games. I don't care how close the game was a win is a win and a loss is a loss. Call it like it is. Liberty is 1-2. I got my hopes up for this team this year. I did a lot of talking. That's not gonna happen again. I'm sick of hearing about how LU doesn't get enough respect. Well there's why! You can't be considered big time if you never win big games! The Big South is a joke! Being the bully of a conference isn't a reason to ask for respect! Get real! Sick of this!

Fan base was AWESOME though. Student side was completely full. I sat behind a JMU guy I really wanted to knock out and in front of another JMU guy that was really cool and I could see myself hangin out with.

Box score.
-2 teams combined for 19 penalties for 212 yards. JMU 8 for 92, LU 11 for 120. JMU called for 5 roughing the passer (several of those were VERY questionable) and LU for 1. Ref was obviously calling those very tight...
-Each team had 17 1st downs.
-JMU 173 yds rushing, LU 74.
-Dae'quan Scott 29 carries, 126 yards.
-Thorpe
Passing 13 for 18 for 141, 0 TD, 0 INT.
Rushing 11 carries, net of 30 (was sacked 2x).
-Mike Brown
24 of 29, 298 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT
15 carries, net of 35 yds (was sacked 3x), 1 TD JMU de did a pretty good job containing him.
-Total Offense:
JMU 314, LU 372

I wouldn't. That is a good team. I would be surprised if LU lost again the rest of the season and didn't win the Big South AQ (provided Mike Brown stays healthy).youngterrier wrote:<jumps of Liberty bandwagon> (at least temporarily)

Re: JMU @ Liberty - Game Discussion Thread
I'm not tooting Liberty's horn until they give me a real reason to. Beating Lehigh won't be a good enough reason. Actually make it to the playoffs and make some noise then maybe I'll consider it.....
