EWU = lost to Nevada, beat DII Central Washington
MSU = lost to WashSt, beat DII Fort Lewis and Drake
NAU = lost to ASU, beat DII Western New Mexico and SUU
SacSt = lost to Stanford, beat DII Western Oregon
Weber = lost to BC, beat UC-D
PSU = lost to ASU and Oregono, beat UC-D

I'm serious when I ask... how is this different than any other year for Big Sky teams... lose to their I-A opponent, beat their D2's and a couple Great West teams. Look, I know it's hard for you guys to schedule anyone else (even though teams like North Dakota, South Dakota State, CalPoly, UNI, SFA, etc... seem to be able to schedule teams from other areas of the country), but this Big Sky looks no different than the last 12 years of Big Sky. Come playoff time, if you actually send new teams into the semis, THEN we can say the Big Sky is better this year.

You're forgetting the part where the CAA teams are either playing each other, or a PL, Big South, MEAC or Patriot League team in the 1st round, guaranteeing them entry to the field of 8.

It's so funny to see you Big Sky fans step on your dicks over and over again.

2009 = W&M > Weber and SIU to get to the semis

2008 = JMU > Wofford and Richmond > AppSt to get to the semis

2007 = UD > UNI and SIU on the way to the finals and Richmond > Wofford (the WC that beat Montana the week before) to get to the semis

2006 = UMass > Montana to get to the finals

2004 - CAA first round opponents: Lafayette, Lehigh, Hampton, Ga Southern
2005 - CAA first round opponents: Colgate, Hampton
2006 - CAA first round opponents: Hampton, YSU, Lafayette
2007 - CAA first round opponents: UNI, Delaware State , Fordham, ASU, EKU
2008 - CAA first round opponents: Wofford, Colgate, Eastern KY, UNI, Southern Ill

I will give you this: The last two years it hasn't been AS bad. AT least your conference was forced to play a couple teams from the MVC, BSC and Southland.

I said this on AGS too. CAA = beating ACC. Big Sky = losing to WAC/Pac10 by 40-70. Not sure how any non-crazy person could think the Big Sky is wonderful this year

But again, I'm a "Montana" fan so none of that particularly alarms me

Though I also think that a team like EWU could actually do some damage in the playoffs for once with a couple home games. Granted that's no-one's fault but their own

No spin needed. We do get a lot of PL (BTW, PL = Patriot, not sure why you felt the need to list them twice ) and MEAC teams (not sure EKU twice in many years constitutes a lot of OVC teams), BUT the CAA also gets a lot of SoCon and MVFC teams too... and beats them.

Again, the argument isn't that the CAA teams that win the NC aren't great teams. The arguemnt was how easy it would be to get other conference teams into the semis if we got cupcakes and the conference mates in the second round.

It has nothing to do with beating Montana in the NC.

WTF? Webfan, I've been watching this conference for a long time. Back when Nevada, Idaho, and Boise were part of it. I've also watched a lot of CAA games, SoCon, and various other games through the last couple years. To say that this is the strongest ever is just throwing darts and you aren't even using a dart board.

This is not even the strongest BSC ever let alone the rest of the nation in. The CAA is still probably a stronger conference in the top 5 teams this years than the BSC is.

With the teams that have a shot at getting in this year from the BSC I think the gap is closer and so forth but there ain't no way that the BSC is anything but on the same level as the CAA this year. As you say though, time will tell.
