I have to pick App St in this one
App has way more team speed than the Griz, and will run all over them
App 45

Hey so are we going to have a CS.com gathering in Philly this weekend? I may be willing to travel north.

There is NO way either team will by that much.

Maybe a little, but I don't know about WAY more team speed. Should be interesting game nonetheless since what Montana lacks in top speed, they make up for by playing solid assignment football on D. Very rarely are they somewhere they shouldn't be.

On the flip side, we will see how Montana's size works to their advantage.

JMU's crazy speed last year didn't amount to a whole lot.

We can/should... there are a few UD/JMU/Lafayette/Lehigh/other guys in Philly, and I am hoping to make it down after work for the game. Andy, I'll let you pick a great place for local food. i know you have a knack for picking inexpensive fare.

This obviously has little relevancy but it's one of my favorite commercials. Point to be learned here though, the Grizzlies will pin you against the wall.

I know where the stadium is, my sister in law graduated from Cabrini a couple years ago and we drove past the stadium on the way to Bertucci's. I rolled my window down and spit, much like I do everytime I drive by the U of Delaware exit sign on I-95.

I have to pull for my fellow Carolinians in this pigskin match up. But I think the Griz are going to win, overall.

Either way, you Griz boys better get ready. AppState is going to work up a number 6 ON AND OFF the field.

I googled "Grizzly in a Bridesmaid's dress" but got no hits. ;)

Edit: Actually, I did get close.....it's one of those "WTF?" pictures, but fits the bill pretty well here.

I recall people making this prediction last year... I didn't believe it then and I don't believe it now. I thought JMU would win, but I didn't think "speed" would matter. The griz consistently show up and rarely get blown out (depending on your definition of a blow out). This will either be a close game or the Griz will be blowing out App, not the other way around. App D has looked pretty stagnate all year IMO, but the combination of Edwards and Moore could present and interesting problem for the Griz.

Like these guys said below, I believe history will repeat itself... especially with the Griz home playoff record

That's why I think our big, physical offensive line could be the difference in this one. If they can establish the run early, and keep Edwards off the field as much as possible, I really like our chances.

No shit, andy. My point is that you'd know where to find it... :ohno:

It's very average food as far as food goes, but in Villanova, PA it is not the easiest to find good dago food, so it is about as good as you'll get.

Grizo's tits sure have perked up since last year. I guess him being on the female drinking team gave him an excuse to work out.

Taking a look at the Richmond game, UR controlled the ball for a full 8 minutes longer than ASU and look where that got them. We've generally been a pretty quick strike offense and have won some of our games handily without clock control. I think this game presents a much different matchup for both teams than they've seen this season, so while I'm black and gold to the core, I'll withold my scoring prediction. There is a 100% chance of football at 4PM Saturday in Missoula.

Check the box score - ASU held Ward to near his averages in this game. Given that we scored 21 in the 4th alone, you could argue that maybe UR has no D, especially looking at the TOP differential.

I also don't see a CAA team that even came close to putting 35 on them.
You check the box score since you like numbers. Instead, I'll rely on the actual game I saw.

Ward missed some wide open receivers...all day. But, that is Ward...he has always been a blah passer. Sure, he hits some good passes, but he doesn't hit his wide open guys consistently. He certainly had enough time...ASU's D line pass rush was held in check. But Ward missed his passes. UR should have been up a few scores and then they could have run the clock out and ground down ASU. But, it didn't happen and ASU did what they needed to and won the game. ASU is explosive but did little before the 4th quarter (where they piled up most of those stats). Good comeback, but UR let them back in the game. And London was MIA on that last drive.

Face it, UR was the third or 4th best team in the CAA (UNH woudl split the series). Good, but not great.

BTW, someone in another thread said ASU will be used to the noise. Yes, you play in the Rock and hear noise. But you don't hear that noise when it is AGAINST your team on third down. Big difference.

ASU has no D. You held UR to their average, but their average includes some bad teams. And Ward missed a bunch of easy throws. The Griz will expose the secondary and the ASU D line wears down badly in the second half.

Griz win big.
