I really don't care how strong or weak the Big Sky is (we already know the answer to that one).. it's the unacceptable level of play by Delaware that concerns me. KC has been grasping at straws since Flacco left and he doesn't seem to have clue as how to right the ship. His inability to build some consistancy and stability into the program will soon have the wolves howling at his door.

Calm down, ChickenMan. 89Hen says it's just the natural cycle of things in the big, bad, CAA. UD should be right back on top about 2011.

None of the polls or computers agree with that at all. Matter of fact, all of them have UD favored.

Seriously.. I don't see that happening if Mr Keeler is still running the show at UD.

You're making absolutely zero sense today. Delaware's strength from year to year has zippy to do with it, but thanks for dwelling on the tribulations of the Hens. The discussion is that when the Hens are down, they suffer through a tough season. When Montana is down, they go 7-1 and still win the Big Sky because there is nobody else stepping up. The Hens will probably end up 4-4, 3-5 or 2-6 in the CAA. If they had a schedule where they could face the 7 teams of the Big Sky the Griz face, they'd probably be 7-1.

I stand corrected. They'd actually go 5-6. Wins against Western State, Portland State, Sac State, Idaho State and Northern Colorado. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: Losses to Weber, NAU, MSU, EWU, UC Davis, and Cal Poly.

Book it. Hell, you'll be lucky to go 5-6 this year anyways, even with that creampuff schedule you locked up.

Man, when you actually type out the names of all the Big Fluff teams it makes it look even worse than it probably actually is.

How would Montana do with Richmond, JMU, Nova, W&M and Navy on the schedule every year? 6-5 or worse?

Yep. Kind of like when you type out names like West Chester, Delaware State, Maine, Towson, Hofstra, Rhode Island, Northeastern...

Montana goes 8-3, minimum with that schedule.

Before 2004, JMU was a pushover.
Before 2005, Richmond was a pushover.
W&M may STILL be classified as a pushover. This year they may actually shed that title.
And you've played Navy TWICE this decade. Hardly what I'd call "on the schedule every year".

For what it's worth, you guys DO play in the tough half of that conference. UMass and UNH have got it EASY.

And luckiy, you guys are the only decent team in the Big Fluff, so it's always a downhill glide for the "mighty" Griz. Of course, this catches up to you come playoff time, but certainly makes for a nice regular season win total. Congrats on taking care of all the gimmes.

Now I don't care who you are, THAT'S funny. Only decent team.

Yeah, it's caught up to us alright. Only 4 championship game appearances and another semfinal appearance in 9 years. We're REALLLLLLY slipping, aren't we? You do realize that only ONE team in the playoffs ends the season with a win, right?   In other words, it catches up to 15 of 16 teams EVERY year. You're just RARELY one of those 16 teams. :coffee:

God, it must SUCK to be a CAA fan....having to somehow justify mediocrity 4 out of every 5 years.

One more thing, 93. The Griz are 4-3 against the best the CAA has to offer since 2000. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

I can't imagine a life where I have to glom onto another conference team 80% of the time because my team wasn't consistent enough to make the playoffs on a regular basis.

I mean, that'd be like being a Bobcat fan.

Actually three:
2003 W 21-17
2004 L 20-34
2007 W 59-52

But you are correct, Navy is not on the schedule every year.

The thing that the CAA has that the Big Sky doesn't have is consistent teams because every year it is a different team that is pretty good that pushes the Griz or beats them. Ask McNeese when they played NAU or S. Illinois when they played EWU or UNI and APP when they played MSU and EWU (no pushovers). Call it the Big Fluff, but conference play gets the Griz ready for the playoffs.

P.S. The NCAA needs to get rid of this regionalization crap. Last year I would have loved Weber, Poly and the Griz to each get a shot at someone from the east. Not saying they would have won but it would have been fun to watch.

And since we all know that'll never happen, the ECB can continue because their lame ass theory never gets tested. Weber beats Cal Poly, Montana beats Weber, and we go ANOTHER year without a western team able to get past Montana. :shake: :shake: Meanwhile, east coast teams get DSU, Fordham, etc.
